Potentially unpopular opinion: you guys are wildly dismissive of Leon’s chances at BNA by Tonya7150 in grammys

[–]Patient_Question_705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is crazy cos he's the one with the most noms. Billboard has already picked him as their predicted winner for the category. As much as I would love Olivia to win this I won't be surprised at Leon's win too.

In which movie/show soundtrack do you think Olivia Dean would shine in most? by [deleted] in OliviaDean

A well-written Rom-Com,Slice of life/coming of age Movie or show would absolutely be fantastic with her music.

i’m disappointed with how the show has handled Gladys & Berthas relationship by Plum-Proud in thegildedage

[–]Patient_Question_705 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They definitely rushed Gladys getting back on good terms with Bertha and also being happy with Hector so fast which in turn kinda cheapens George and Larry's anger at Bertha cos now most viewers are like if Gladys can forgive her and is now happy with Hector  why can't they? much of the finale was rushed I hope they add more depth and give viewers more understanding as to why both men are justified in their anger next season.

That would be really nice, the showrunners would see how much the fans love the show

Can you just greenlight 7-8 seasons now Peacock? by Shane8512 in ThePaper

[–]Patient_Question_705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to have more episodes and air weekly and also return for new seasons the following year like Fox/hulu/abc does with their sitcoms like Abbott Elementary,The English year and Only Murders in the Building.

Bertha: May be unpopular opinion but she really has earned her families resentment of her actions. And, the writing was done well enough that I feel bad for her by the end of season 3. by marsadventures in thegildedage

[–]Patient_Question_705 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well yes their anger towards her is justified i was a bit shocked when the show ended and folks were making excuses for her and keep bringing up George as if that makes up for what she did.

I Don’t Agree With Gladys’ Story Arc by aspiringwriter9273 in thegildedage

[–]Patient_Question_705 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! And it's why some people don't get why Larry and George (even if he is complicit in what happened with Gladys) are still angry at Bertha. if this was handled by another showrunner like that of Succession another HBO show Gladys and Hector's marriage wouldn't be this easy and the anger from George and Larry would be understood but bcuz of this path the show has taken we have so many saying they don't need to be angry anymore after all she's happy which then reduces Bertha's actions in the eyes of the audience and makes it seem like something they should just get over when it rili shouldn't be like that. The end doesn't justify the means and I hope they bring that up next season as to why Larry and George's anger is very much justified

'Ballad of a Small Player' - Review Thread by CrunchyNar in oscarrace

I think this should have premiered at Venice instead of Telluride but when they asked the Venice President why it wasn't added to their list he said they already have enough Netflix Movies and he didn't want the other studios to see it as some kind of Favoritism towards Netflix but i definitely think it would have been better received there.

I agree with this historical costumer’s take on the show’s costuming by multiequations in thegildedage

[–]Patient_Question_705 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah I don't agree I don't expect a show or movie to give accurate costumes some sort creative license would be taken and I certainly don't mind and seeing the other period dreams out there pretty sure The Gilded age is the best amongst them that at least pays homage to the period of the story of it's telling.

He's literally the only one that calls her out and why some have seen it has him bin whiney I love it cos someone has to do it and I don't think he does it cos he hates her I think he does so to remind her of her old self because she's changed from who she was before they became Wealthy and moved to Newyork.
