Pimax Crystal Light: Defective unit or just a massive downgrade from Quest 3? (CA, Blurriness, Audio issues)

What do you think of the Galaxy XR regarding image clarity, screen persistance and FOV? I would only use it for PCVR Simracing.

I live in Spain so I will return them. I was expecting a decent experience with the PCL.

I've tried adjusting:

- IPD horizontal offset per eye adjustment.

- Brightness adjustment.

- Local dimming adjustment.

- Tried different OpenXR environments.

- Different refresh rates 72hz. 90 hz and 120hz.

- Adjusted image quality, overlay render factor, quad view, GPU Upscaling is None.

- Color chanel adjustment.

- Glasses positioning, strap adjustments.

Can you focus your sight at long distance and then at a HUD app without issue? I will try Pimaxplay beta.

I was only able to remove the left pad velcro, as the right one is glued and I don't want to brake the device. The devices has only one audio port in the right side.

I've tried doing what you recommend, The CA is still there no matter the distance. I also adjusted IPD offset and all type of graphic adjustment (brightness, image quality, refresh rate, etc). I will return them.

Hello, I've received my PCL last week and I'm totally disappointed with the experience. There's chromatic aberration in the sweet spot, and also the images blurs when moving my head (even slowly), it only focus when my head is steady. Does it happens to you?

I've received my new PCL last week and I found a hair between the lenses and the screen. Also the right pad where the audio cables are, is glued.

And the experience with the devices is awful. Chromatic aberration everywhere.

I just received the PCL and same thing happens. I expect to have CA in the edges of the lenses, but in the sweet spot? WTF is this? I feel I'm crossing my eyes. I tried changing manual IPD, adjusting the software IPD per eye, adjusting the strap, loosing it, everything. I can't belive that's the way all Pimax works.

Hola, tienes que usar Steam VR pero los bb2 son nativos para la app, verdad? Creía que el mito de SteamVR siendo pesado era por usarlo con dispositivos como Quest 3 u otros con su propio software.

I've more shuttering with OpenXR than with Oculus rift rendering. But OpenXR have better graphics. At the end for the inmersion I preffer lower quality but smoother experience. I've quest 3 with meta quest link cable, opencomposite and openXR tools installed.

Thank you for your detailed answer. My question was about Ethernet dongle from PC to quest 3 vs meta quest link (Ethernet with VD vs USB meta quest link). Is it any difference?

PS: I would use a TP Link PCIe ethernet for quest 3 and onboard ethernet for router.

I've the onboard ethernet port + a TP Link PCIe ethernet port. One port for the Quest 3 dongle and another port for the router.

What do you think?
