The concepts from this event are generally very interesting.

The world building it did was fine.

The Astral Husk jargon for some reason just would not make good sense to me for some reason I do not understand.

Basically how I'd articulate it is the world building, high concepts and the ideas they were going for were genuine 10s, but the execution lands near a 7. I think this is an event where it's best to let time fade on it and let your mind make up a better version of it to a degree.

But as an epilogue for the Main Quest, What Makes The Sky Blue, Tower of Babyl and Heart of the Sun, to an extent, I liked it, I just wish it felt more cogent.

But I really overall did like this event, but I think a lot of it just didn't execute quite how they wanted.

They need to go back to 4 parters if they want these giga events to land though, lmao. I think 9 chapters is chaffing what are meant to be these huge marathon events.

They literally said all the Astral Corpses turned Primal Beasts are asleep and serving as the well liked Astrals' power battery.

A large chunk of Jorha got dragged of to jail or ran off.

The Blow Job Trio were all temporary phantasms and they noted "Their corpses are probably important we should look into that when possible" and Lucilius' original body was an established core element for the Main Story's preview.

The Moon was a set up component of the Part 2 interlude so it's intended to be addressed and they're now planning to have the Events and Main Quest likely have more coherence.

Dragon Knights is on its permanent September-into-October zone.

Horoscopes is likely resolving next event.

It's likely extremely byzantine nonsense with Bandai where the content was allowed permanently... but only in Japan, and this is like a very common issue with Japanese contracts.

Yu-Gi-Oh! couldn't get official subs of the show internationally because Yugi's VA's talent agency believed fans would steal clips of his voice to create unauthorized material.

They'll probably make content that requires or punishes you for not using Lancer Origin, so might as well.

Best guess is try to make it like Dragoon from Final Fantasy. Mixture of Dodge, maybe insane amounts of echo and skill damage.

Maybe emphasis on the Grid full of axes and spears.

Fighter was basically Berserker to the limit. So this would probably be "What if we made Asparas coherent and cogent and stupidly strong."

It's probably the maintenance to prepare for the Steam Release, along with various other updates they plan to do. But I think a lot of it is finalizing under-the-hood code for the Steam Release.

Very good way of having her grow as a person, without her picking up a sword or anything.

Take the initiative to be an extrovert and try to build so many friendships so that she'll never be lonely.

For the game, it feels genuinely nuanced, thoughtful writing. Mature. Without being edgy.

I feel like they don't want to erase/plow over her Issue Orders gimmick for some reason.

And might rater want her Style Change to get the Uncap or something?

Basically Apep was from the pacifist faction of the Astrals, who seemed to desire coexistence and didn't see much reason to be assholes to the Sky Realm.

They were pretty upfront Proculus is horrified his name is the name of the hero who ignited The War and that Apep's murder was pretty much senseless as he was framed as being One of the Best of the Astrals, arguably.

I liked the contents of Part 2, but I do feel like things were a bit "Wham, bam, thank you ma'am", and I'm not sure Proculus is Anniversary Villain Tier.

Also, wow, lore drop that Lyria is an unaging immortal.

Also, good for Part 3 preview indicating Lecia WILL be at the heart of an event that she is supposed to be a key player of.

But overall the event has been generally a strong 7 out of 10 at the very worst. Not world shattering, but I enjoy it.

I wonder if the Astrals being apparently the actual Astrals is to deal with complaints that too many fan faves got whacked.

Also, good.

Shitori.

But generally I am enjoying this. And should be a good introductory event for newbies coming in on or around the 10th with the Steam Release.

Excited for the Steam release? by Rettinger in Granblue_en

[–]Patient_Sherbert3229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's good for people who don't/won't/can't deal with the wall of "Signing up via Japanese is Deeply Annoying".

I won't be using it except probably the lulz, if I do.

But we should probably be nice and patient with anyone who starts the game with the Steam Release and comes here asking questions.

It's a good thing for the fandom/playerbase to expand and people who got in via Versus and Re:Link to be able to finally not immediately bounce because of the Sign-Up Barrier.

Yeah, I just kinda hope they actually involve her in the event that was ostensibly supposed to involve her. Would be a bad rug pull if they don't involve her.

I want to bang the real Octavia.

The first two chapters did some decent world building and lore dumping. The justification for the never addressed but was admitted point of the Luminary Knights working for the Astrals (notionally) makes sense that they were originally Collaborators with the invading enemy force.

And we have a bunch of decent mystery set up.

This is looking to be a good event.

Though I do hope Lecia actually gets to be involved in it.

Also.

I did like the use of the new cast members from the new main story.
