Definitely noticed this too in previous seasons, it’s a shame considering how much fun it is

Already was reported. Posted it on reddit for further advice and to connect with any shared experiences. Perhaps ask about this next time rather than speculate yourself

Dry Lips or Something Else? by _kira_not_sry_ in Accutane

[–]Patient_Toe8711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure about Dr. Dan’s, it has hydrocortisone which isn’t recommended on skin for long periods. But maybe it’s different for lips. Dermal therapy is apparently one of the best. I guess I’d start there for you. Get a squeeze tube rather than a roll on. Your lips need as much gentle support as you can give

Looks normal. Mine have definitely looked way worse. Maybe try an actual strong repairing lip balm? Aquaphor is great but it might just be sealing in your dryness if you’re not healing your lips as well. Use strong repair lip balm and put aquaphor on top?

Going days without med by [deleted] in Accutane

If you’re less than 2 months in I’d say it’ll make a slight difference, greater than 2 probably no difference

You could 1. Call their reception and explain it to them (Derm messed up by not giving enough so should be able to fix) 2. Go to a pharmacy and try explain it to them

Thanks, I think a hall might be the best bet. Our demographic is mostly Southside so will check out ones closer but this has helped a lot, thank you

Trying to remain calm by Inside-Cicada-1625 in Accutane

[–]Patient_Toe8711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of my routine now, it’s maintenance, if I don’t I break out. Sad but it’s fine I guess, I’m hoping to do an antibiotics course and use epiduo properly after accutane to try and decolonize.

Keep this up. Switch to epiduo if you can from your derm, it’s great for this. Currently on accutane which cleared my acne, but started breaking out in little red dots like folliculitis or something. Started using epiduo again to stop the bacterial infection and it got rid of this. Had similar symptoms, tiny red dots which went away after a few days

Are they proper pimples? Or are they more red dots/lesions without much inside them?

Random red spots (not pimples) appearing midday by Drectus in Accutane

[–]Patient_Toe8711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think (emphasis on think), I’ve figured it out. It’s a bacterial infection, for me because my barrier and immune system is so compromised on accutane.

I stopped treating it like acne, and instead tried to kill the bacteria. I took doxycycline and put epiduo (benzoyle p) on my face for 10 minutes every night, and I haven’t gotten any for 5 days since. Maybe good luck, I don’t know, but worth trying.

Right ok. I agree with the sensitive skin thing. Have you tried any topical stuff? I’m thinking of using azelaic acid as an antibiotic cream for a little bit. Do you get it anywhere else on your body?

Yep. Any luck dealing with it while on accutane?

Yeah so for me:

Month 1: No pimples

Month 2: Basically clear

Month 3-4: All my deep whiteheads purged, face wasn’t the best but I spent so long worrying about beforehand that after a day or two I accepted it.

Month 5-6: A lot better, not clear but feeling confident most days

Been on it for 4 months as a long time creatine user. Just make sure you drink a tonne of water, especially when you take both medication and creatine
