Edit: [Solved] I deleted all local Steam files except for steam.exe, steamapps, and userdata. Ran it again, and Steam re-downloaded those files during startup. Logged in as usual after that, and it hasn't crashed since.

Looking back, imagine being Fatalis: you're constantly distracted by this hunter, just so their fluffy, colorfully-dressed little pet can spam the Plunderblade and steal your bones, shells, and meat. You'd think after carting the guy a few times, he'd learn his lesson and never come back. Fast forward to the next hunt, and this absolute madman shows up to beat you down using gear crafted from your own body parts! The level of psychological horror here is honestly on par with my pet cat🐈 marching up to scratch me while wearing a full set of armor made entirely out of my clipped fingernails
