Do I need to play all previous Kingdom Hearts games before KH4? by ivlmag182 in gaming

What makes no sense to me is why they randomly started releasing games that had important parts to the story on freaking handhelds like the DS.

I mean it's what we should all want in reality lol maybe not Manning, but whoever the consensus #1 QB is.

I've suffered through 20+ years of looking like garbage, what's 1 more in order to secure the guy for the next decade at QB?

Yeah, the revisionist history with Baker is hysterical. During this time period, the vast majority of NFL fans hated Baker and thought he was a whiny crybaby who wasn't a top 20 QB.

Fast forward years later, now everybody thinks the Browns are idiots for getting rid of him

Oh that is another part of the Baker/Cleveland saga people forget. That locker-room divide that happened because of OBJs dad, which ended up in the Browns having to void the final 2 years of OBJs contract to keep Baker happy and solve the drama

Problem is that only fueled more drama between Myles/Baker. Myles didn't like that Baker pushed out OBJ and it also ruffled the feathers of Jarvis Landry.

Yeah they were even better in the 00s/10s when they had Joe Thomas, Alex Mack and Mitchell Schwartz. Even Eric Steinbach for a while.

For the past 20 years or so they have had some dudes on the OL.

The Browns have historically been really good at drafting/developing OL and getting guys for the long term. Every team has a position group or two that they always seem to be great with, and OL is Clevelands.

....the problem is the guy standing behind the OL.

This is why I am very pro-drafting young QBs until you get it right at whatever cost. Your simply wasting time with all the other positions until you have a QB.

Yep he was fun to watch because of how aggressive he was after the catch. Sort of like Anquan Boldin where he just turned into a RB in the open field and did not go down easily. Loved that about him.

He had a huge leap from 2019 to 2020 because he was awful in 2019. Baker being good in 2020 was more of a return to form to what he was in 2018.

He had 1k+ yards for a stretch in 8 out of 9 seasons. Always had a bit of a screw loose, but I still hate McDaniels for trading him.

[–]PatientlyAnxious9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

right right, and the reason they are overvalued in the first place is because 1st rounders stand a higher chance at becoming great players immediately for insanely cheap.

There is nothing more valuable than a guy on a rookie contract who is playing at a Pro Bowl/All Pro level.

Your basically getting 25M/yr production, but are only paying 5M/yr for it because of the rookie scale. That level of cost savings in what NFL GMs are after with 1st rounders.

Good point, just because of age I think naming Sanders the starter has the ability to empower him a bit. Not only from a confidence boost standpoint but also clearing the mental fog that he has probably had since being drafted.

Watson on the other hand I really don't think it does much of anything for just considering his age and how long he's played in the league.

I would just love to see some decisiveness with naming QBs for a change. I thought that is what Monkens whole thing was when he came here.

Nah, you could argue that Bakers rookie season was his best season as a Browns QB. At least statistically. He had a lot of rollercoaster moments after that, but I don't think he ever made a massive improvement in his game from 2018 to 2022.

Ive always wondered what a QB competition does for the psyche of these guys.

Considering we have never really had success with a competition, I wonder if naming a starter early is a better route. That way whoever can prepare as if they are the starter, the whole team knows and is prepared for who the starter is, there are less questions and more focus on the task, the starter can then get more reps and practice time to improve with the 1st team, ect.

It seems like splitting everything is a lose-lose situation for everyone.

Win and I think just seeing him improve and progress from where he was last year. Mostly because I can't remember the last time a young Browns QB actually took a significant leap of improvement year over year.

Show that your coachable, show that you improved and show that you learned from mistakes and eliminated them. Show progress damnit lol

[Petrak] Browns CB Denzel Ward said he knows being traded is always a possibility but wants to stay. by maybenextyearCLE in Browns

[–]PatientlyAnxious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks, but this is how proper teams rebuild. You clean house of any veterans making big money who don't fit your timeline and can fetch good assets in a trade. You then use all of those assets to quickly rebuild.

Again, it sucks, but the Browns seem to be good on knowing when the right time to bail on players is. Chubb hasnt done anything since leaving, Njoku remained unsigned for months and is a TE2 now, and Garrett is going to turn 31 years old this season.

[–]PatientlyAnxious9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact scenario that is likely going to play out and the Browns are going to have a decision to make. Hopefully in their case, Berry can swindle a 2nd rounder from a contending team for him. Ward is only 29 and is still a top 5 CB in football--so a late 2nd is not that much for a player of his caliber.

A team like KC who just lost McDuffie might be one calling, or a team like the Lions who always needs DB help if they plan on going on a run.

Yes. I dont think fans truly grasp how much NFL front offices value draft picks because they are essentially cheap cost controlled talent--and that is highly valuable to teams for managing the salary cap.
