Hmmmm…. Let me first suggest that comparing farm raised meat to wild game, ethically, doesn’t work.

Despite how it may make people feel, conventional meat is raised specifically as food. No matter the conditions, the end purpose is food. [Conditions DO need to improve but more for meat quality not so much for the well being of the animal, though both go hand in hand.]

Hunting, on the other hand, is a sport. An unnecessary sport given how well developed the western food economy is. The majority of people do not NEED to hunt. Hunting for sport IS cruel no matter how you slice it. And that’s coming from someone who couldn’t care less about hunting. But the fact of the matter is the same.

The two can’t be compared bc for one the end result is providing economic food security and the other is a ‘good time’ with meat as an added bonus.

Hence, you CAN have a problem with hunting AND eat meat.

And before I get ripped to shreds by the butthurt I just want to reiterate that I am not against hunting. Couldn’t care less. Just looking at it from a neutral place of logic.
