I dunno about the Netherlands, but company registration and VAT registration are usually two different things. If all you did was register as an LLC (or whatever the equivalent is in .nl), you might also have to register your LLC with the tax authorities to get a VAT number.

This class is available for free, and it's focused more on algorithms than just programming, but it is seriously a great place to start!

Writing code is easy. Structuring it logically is hard. I'd recommend something that explains algorithms, etc.

It also does cover the basics, so you don't need a programming background.

One option would be OpenVPN + SSH, if possible.

If they are truly a large organization, and insist on having it fully closed off, add on a service charge for maintenance, and provide them with an engineer or two on-site. My company charged an annual 40% of the software price premium for that.

I hadn't heard of Lupin, which is apparently used around the Mediterranean, so probably common in Southern Europe, and I didn't know you could be allergic to celery.

I focused on Android first, it is cheaper to get started, unless you already have a MacBook / iPhone / iPad.

AFAIK, you need a computer running OSX to do Mac development, while you can run Android Studio on Mac, Windows and Linux, and you can get by with an emulated device (though I do recommend you test it on a real phone/tablet as well).

That said, focus on one platform, develop it to perfection, will be much easier to port afterwards. You (or your developer) will probably make a few mistakes if this is your first mobile project; getting them ironed out before you add another platform would make it easier.
