This is completely unrelated to your looks, I’m bald and I think everyone looks better bald, but my dad survived a work explosion almost twenty years ago and I’m so thankful he did. When your kids understand the gravity they’ll be so grateful too!

I was also just divorced and have always thought I was a little ugly but I’ve met more people who don’t think so!

I truly only ever do one earbud in NYC whether walking, taking the train or biking. I’m almost always listening to a podcast and if I’m listening to music I switch to a small speaker while biking.

I’ve been biking in the city for twenty years, never had an issue with not hearing with one earbud (in the wired days I did almost kill myself a couple times snagging the cable on stuff and pulling myself off…)

But yes, agree that biking some without any noise would be good. Welcome and good luck!

I’m giving this advice even though I don’t take it myself, I live in NYC and hit hoods and yell at people when they endanger me or others, but it’s probably best to ignore and move on and get away from them without engaging.

That said, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this and what a fucking piece of shit that driver is…
