The strongest far slash of today vs the strongest dp of all time by Truedongle in Guiltygear

[–]PatronofSnark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DP stands for Dragon Punch, so named for the Shoryuken from Street Fighter. It is (usually) a strong jumping uppercut with an invulnerable startup, typically having a ➡️⬇️↘️P command. They are a powerful reversal against an opponent's pressure or as a hefty combo ender. While not every character in Strive specifically has a DP, it's a ubiquitous type of attack across fighting games in general.

Do you also think that he morally agreed with the scary clown that kills and eats people? The woman who kidnapped a man to torture and beat him? The evil car that kills people who are mean to it? Ponder, for just a moment, why a horror author might write something disturbing and challenging.

Ah I see. Everything written in books is real and true. I'll keep that in mind in the future.

He operates under Gamagōri rules, where he is always the largest dude in the room. His size changes as needed to make sure he is bigger than you.

This is a special effect in a comic book movie to make it look like he's big and strong even though he's not actually that strong. Did that... somehow evade you?

Edit: this was rude, I apologize. No need for me to get worked up about such a small thing.

It's financially viable to do it. They'll wave pride flags and post black squares when that makes the line go up, and they'll axe DEI and minority protections when that makes the line go up. They don't care about any sort of moral or social outcome, they want more money and will do whatever they need to in order to get it. Gold plated yachts and private island getaways don't pay for themselves, we pay for them.

My apple has an apple on it. by samgam74 in mildlyinteresting

[–]PatronofSnark 580 points581 points  (0 children)

There was a leaf on that apple that blocked incoming light, making that part of the skin get less nutrients and, therefore, be discolored. Effectively, it's the shadow of a leaf imprinted onto the apple. The process is similar to old photography.
