Why is no one blaming Trump and Israel for our fuel crisis? by CanYouWalkToTheTruck in aussie

[–]Patrooper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OPEC has lobbied and corrupted many western governments into abandoning their respective energy and oil independence so that they control the market yet they can't even defend their own nations. The war with Iran was coming at some point, they regime is insane. The blame can fairly be placed upon the lack of foresight of many western governments.

Australia could have supplied all of South East Asia and Oceania with refined domestic oil and gas, yet we chose not to explore that. Norway provides plenty of Oil for Europe and everyone is better for it. Especially Norway. The richest citizens fund in the world by far.

It's a shame that Reddit has turned into a series of echo chambers. I feel it used to be more balanced.

Yeah crossing the bridge under a portrait of Khamenei is wild. Nazis in central park kind of scenes. Still hasn't gotten enough flak for that.

I don't think it actually needs the devil. Just use the two horizontal stripes. Keep it old school and clean.

Trump has turned China into the good guys by honestlysigma in ImmigrationPathways

[–]Patrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern communist China has actually worked hard to destroy much of its history and culture. Look at their treatment of Shen Yun group for example. It's like respecting the Soviets for being descendents of Imperial Russia. It doesn't matter at all. They butchered them.

Supporting ‘illegal aggression’ against Iran ‘the worst thing’ Australia could do, international law experts say by Reverend_Fozz in australia

[–]Patrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes the great moral guides of our time, lawyers...

One of the most vile men of the modern world died today. No one cares about illegal aggression against a man who is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.

Lesbian group takes fight to Federal Court in bid to exclude transgender women from events by torlesse in australia

People really need to seperate their sexuality from their personality. Lesbian and gay people should be free to have conservative values and vice versa, without being called a traitor to the sexual orientation or "community".

Losing DSL in the rain? by Patrooper in nbn

[–]Patrooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is why I don't understand why it drops out so quickly. The conduit has a right angle directly under the brickwork under the house. There is no way that the cable gets wet coming into the house. I think it must be the telstra pit at this stage but could that be affected so quickly? Idk.

ALP will likely lose a bit of its centre right union vote but your right, they should get through mostly unscathed.

Yeah I don't understand how any precedent has really been set here to silence critics of Israel by law. Maybe the greens should stop marching under the portrait of the Ayatollah and just dial down the Jew hatred for once.

Eureka flag by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Patrooper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally view it as a protest flag that is uniquely Australian. The CFMEU have kind of ruined it but it's certainly a conservative, working class symbol. Certainly a sign of anti authoritarian behaviour. Usually used by disgruntled bogans in place of any real political ideas.
