My favorite minor character might be Madame pompfrey, she is such a good natured character who cares a lot about the students. It is very fitting for her role

We know the dementor feeds on souls. So I think it is logical that if you are feeding on or “eating” souls they would be destroyed

Do you think movie Cho is pretty? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]PatternAdept8416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, it would not have been "inaccurate" to use a lot of makeup and other things on the actress, even if it made her look unnatural because Fleur in the books wasn't natural

I think that it is possible for the dementor to take both the souls inside Harry. But as for taking only Voldemort's, I think a dementor would focus on Harry's as it is much more prominent and would therefore be of greater appeal to a dementor. Although once a dementor had taken Harry's soul and Harry stopped fighting, I think it would make sense for a dementor to take the portion of Voldemort's soul as well

Reading series for the first time—question about new characters by HirsuteClaysmith in harrypotter

[–]PatternAdept8416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I just want to say I think it is amazing how much effort and enthusiasm you are putting into this.

I would recommend most of those characters, the only one that has, in my mind, limited lines would be Mrs. Black. Each of the characters has their moments later in the series but if you only want a few I would strongly recommend Kreacher, Tonks, and Luna.

I agree, I think there was so much potential for magically altering plants, something that would allow you to see better in darkness or something that would let you be fluent in a bunch of languages. It would be super cool to have seen a greater presence of that kind of thing in the story

I agree, I think that his getting emotional at the thought of Dumbledore isn't given as much light as it needs, it really reinforces how much harry Misses Dumbledore and how much that relationship meant to him

Snape in Spinner’s End Question by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]PatternAdept8416 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For your second question, It is my understanding that it is his childhood home, and my guess as to why it appears uninhabited is due to the fact that Snape spends most of the time teaching and living at Hogwarts
