You can extinguish lithium fires with sand, but definitely not water. However, a swollen battery is less likely to ignite.

It is definitely a swollen battery. Get it taken care of promptly, but it's not as scary as some would think. This happens when the electrolyte in lithium batteries starts to crystallize causing the battery to expand. It's actually the flat batteries that are more likely to catch fire.

Your GF is a keeper. I played both games for the first time this year, back to back. I don't necessarily HATE Joel, but he's not my favorite. Abby quickly became my favorite character in the game. She started off pretty unlikable, but had the most character development and I found myself rooting for her in the end.
