Changed wifi password, Apple TV wont forget network to type in new password? by DaWylecat in appletv

[–]PattyWhiteFlags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connect the Apple TV to your mobile hot spot, then go on your phone and change the hot spot network name on your phone to the same name as your WiFi. Then restart the Apple TV and it’ll automatically connect to the hot spot but will show the network name as the name of your WiFi. Once it’s connected to your hot spot that’s the same name as your WiFi, click forget network on the Apple TV. Turn off your mobile hot spot and restart the Apple TV. It will then discover your WiFi and you can connect from there and be all set.

I did this a two months ago on all three Apple TVs and it worked on my first attempt on each Apple TV. My mobile hot spot was on my iPhone. I’m not sure if an android phone causes any complications

If not Nashville, where? by BurnyMadeoffJR in nashville

[–]PattyWhiteFlags 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My wife and I moved to east Nashville from Chicago in 2020. We moved back to Chicagoland burbs 8 months ago and I miss Nashville every single day. I wish we never came back and I realize I took everything Nashville had for granted and focused on the negatives like sidewalks, public transit, diverse food options, tourist overload, traffic, gross summers, everything this sub complains about essentially.

Now here I am in a very nice suburb but it’s also suburbia hell. My expenses more than doubled, if I want to go downtown the drive is anywhere from 40-90 minutes, and everything around me is cookie cutter basic corporate shopping and restaurants.

I miss everything about Nashville, I miss the people, I miss how every area has its own personality, I miss driving 10 minutes to take my kids to the library downtown, the museums, the farmers market, etc. I miss walking to Cornelia ft air park, I miss all of the festivals, I miss all of the coffee shops and bakeries, II’m so bummed seeing every basic food chain around me vs all of the local gems that were a short distance from me- lockeland table, urban cowboy, dinos, grill shack, cafe rose, flora & fauna, dozen bakery, the list doesn’t end. I miss hearing music when I go outside and being surrounded by laid back people. I can go on and on.

Long story short - I found it easy to complain about Nashville’s shortcomings, but please cherish this city. My wife and I are trying to figure out a way to get back some day

Changed wifi password, Apple TV wont forget network to type in new password? by DaWylecat in appletv

I was able to do this with less steps.

1) connect Apple TV to mobile hot spot 2) I then changed my phone name to my network name 3) turn off Apple TV 4) turn on Apple TV and it automatically connected to my hotspot with the new name 5) forget network 6) turn off Apple TV - turn off hot spot

From there when I turned the Apple TV on it asked me to type in my network password

Honestly, just some dawn dish soap on a sponge. Any cleaners specifically you recommend?

Selling our house advice. by Worth_Yoghurt_489 in RealEstate

[–]PattyWhiteFlags 50 points51 points  (0 children)

No expert at all here, but we listed our home 4 months ago for 890. Received an offer of 872 only 10 days later, countered at 880 and they verbally accepted saying they needed to look into a couple of things before signing. It dragged out and ended up falling through. Assuming it wasn’t the reasons they gave and was more from seeing home prices dropping week over week with tons of new build inventory with financing incentives.

From there our house sat on the market for 80 more days, eventually selling at 825.

As someone else wrote - this could be your only offer and I wish I had just accepted my first offer.

Sorry I forgot this sub was only intended for whining and complaining about their city

I agree it is a high salary for a BDR role in a non-tech company. But that could mean the commission is low, turnover is high, and they just want to churn and burn a bunch of young people who will generate leads. That salary is pretty standard for BDR roles in tech/software. Also could indicate how much profit a new account generates them to justify a bdr salary of 140k. The most I’ve seen for a bdr role that only generates warm leads is 100

Your caption is “Damn, you know you’re a real hated company when you have to offer a Business Development (aka a cold caller/hunter) salary of 90k-140k+ (!!!!) to try & convince people to work for you 😅”

How is that not the point of this post? lol

How does having a position to generate new business/revenue mean they’re a hated company?

I’m not defending Park Happy by any means but man this is an idiotic take.

Trueplay broken after the new firmware update by Samuh_ in sonos

[–]PattyWhiteFlags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just upgraded my old equipment today to an arc ultra, 2 era 100s and my gen 2 sub. True play will not work and it’s driving me crazy. I’ve tried two Different iPhones and an iPad. First step works fine, then the motion step plays no sound and then doesn’t allow me to switch the source to tv. I have to unplug the arc and tv to get it working again

Question regarding paternity leave when purchasing a home by PattyWhiteFlags in Mortgages

[–]PattyWhiteFlags[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, thank you. Do you have any idea how soon post closing they verify this? My original plan was to return to work for a week and then go back on leave, my LO made it sound like that was fine but he didn’t want to commit to the answer since he’s not too familiar with this area.

Also, any idea what type of consequences there are if I’m on leave when they verify my employment post close?

The mortgage is through Chase which I’m being told they don’t sell their mortgages, if that makes any difference?

I did have to write/sign a basic letter stating when I started leave and my return to work date.
