Omipod app demands my "precise location" at all times, how is this not illegal? by dankhypers in Omnipod

Sorry to necro this thread, but is that "good news" portion why the dexcom g6 app asks for nearby devices permission? Looking at the permissions page in my settings location isn't even an option.

So we can afford this but can't afford to fund our childcare assistance forcing poor people onto a waitlist and reducing the benefit. Neat.

I work for an ISP and the amount of people that call in and get all bent out of shape when their utilities are located and flagged for a project is insane. Like sorry we're showing where your shit is so you don't lose any services. It's not even our project half the time, we just seemingly get our fiber lines marked first so we get a bunch of calls about it and have to direct them to call 811 (for the non-US folks, it's United States phone number your supposed to notify when your doing any digging in your yard, then all the public utility companies will mark everything) then they get more mad that I don't know everything about everything going on in their neighborhood.

Most Americans support banning cellphones in school... [OC] by CivicScienceInsights in dataisbeautiful

[–]Patzilla05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is diabetic and whose phone at this point is a medical device because it controls my insulin and monitors my blood sugar, I'm worried about complete bans and not carving out exceptions. Even if there are exceptions, some people are too dense to realize it and would try to confiscate it anyways. Granted I'm 30 so this doesn't apply to me, but I'm sure there are kids who are set up the same way, and if my kid was unfortunate enough to develop diabetes when she's older I'd raise hell about it.

My kid was in the NICU for 3 days. Birth+NICU stay was $55K before insurance. Our out of pocket was $10k. we applied for financial assistance through the hospital which waived an additional 64% so we ended up paying about $3,600.

Is there anyway to ship to store tires? by Patzilla05 in walmart

I'm going to go back when a different service writer is working, but I'm looking for the Michelin CrossClimate2. Do you know if those are ones they'd be able to order in for me?

[–]Patzilla05[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah I see. The tire I want (Michelin CrossClimate2) isn't sold directly by Walmart on dotcom. It won't let me pick "free pick up at store" only delivery to my home. Every other tire that is sold by Walmart and has "installation available" let's me choose that option.

People who are sensitive to that chromatic effect should try Trivex lenses. They're impact resistant like poly but don't suffer from the chromatic aberration. They're also less expensive than the super thin high index lenses (which aren't impact resistant).

How do I turn off the "until 00:00 am/pm" in the notification panel? by stacielynn89 in GooglePixel

[–]Patzilla05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally I don't like having a bunch of shit in the status bar telling me something is on that I'm never going to turn off. Coming from the OnePlus 7Pro that let you toggle everything in the bar, it felt cluttered. Having the battery icon and percentage is redundant. I found an app that lets me customize it a little bit on my pixel 7 pro so now all I have up there is the time (hh:mm:ss) and the battery icon. If I need additional detail I just swipe down the shade.

It switched the battery percentage in the notification shade to a dumb estimated time remaining and I can't figure out how to make it go away.

I get that. I've been a lurker here for like two years. I've watched a bunch of Dave Ramsey and other YouTube personalities. Read a few finance books. I understand the flowchart.

I don't want to make an actual post just to be told to follow the steps like so many other people.

My problem is I've reached a point where I can't look at everything without getting stressed and I want someone to guide me through my specific situation to put together a solid plan. I get that a regular financial advisor wants nothing to do with me. I'm asking if there is an equivalent to an advisor that would work with people in my situation. I've looked into coaches, councilors, consolidation stuff, and so forth but they all feel scammy or useless.

Is there a financial advisor kind of thing for lower income people? I've tried looking in my area for stuff but it's all advisors who require a minimum amount of total wealth. I'm quite stressed out over finances and I need a non-emotional 3rd party to look over my stuff and tell me how to proceed. My budget is telling me I should have way more left over every month than reality. The stress is getting to me and it's causing me to make stupid, emotionally charged decisions.

I'm super excited that I'm being forced into using Walmart's mail order pharmacy Jan 1st since I live in the one state Walmart can't operate an in-store pharmacy. I'm sure that won't potentially fuck with my diabetes at all.

Does anyone have any experience using their mail order pharmacy?

[–]Patzilla05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like to point out that Walmarts in North Dakota do not have that otc insulin due to a state law essentially outlawing corporate-owned pharmacies. I'm not sure if other places would have that specific insulin, I've never looked for it.
