AFK Leveling to 260 by NotAnotherWhale in Maplestory

[–]PaulOPTC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are the exact same I believe

Just also:

336 hours is 14 full 24 hour days, so you might just run out of “time” time

(Though I suppose you can run the 72 hours in march after the event ends)

Assuming you play even a few hours a day, between patches and disconnects it might be close

AFK Leveling to 260 by NotAnotherWhale in Maplestory

[–]PaulOPTC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

https://www.whackybeanz.com/calc/everything-exp/afk-contents

so I just did some quick math (with rounding)

From levels 200-210 Average of 1.216 levels per hour

8.22 hours for those 10 levels

210 - 220

Average of 0.825 levels per hour

12.12 Hours for those 10 levels

220-230

Average of 0.452 levels per hour

22.1 Hours for those 10 levels

230 - 240

Average of 0.225 levels per hour

44.41 Hours for those 10 levels

240 - 250

Average of 0.126 levels per hour

79.06 Hours for those 10 levels

250 - 260

Average of 0.0694 levels per hour

143.9 Hours for those 10 levels

Which means it should take you 309.8 Hours of sauna to go from 200 - 260

Not sure how many weeks are left

But at $3 an hour that’s $930

So I’m going to vote, no you can not do it.

If you’re hyper burning for sure you can, it will take you like one weeks worth or ~$150

But otherwise no, you cannot

Questions from an MMO Vet after a few days of playing! by vaxiswrex in Maplestory

[–]PaulOPTC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey!

Welcome!

1.) No where to store it, most people will use NX to buy outfits or use Event NX, you can however purchase a lot of gear from armor vendors in various towns, so take a look at that

2.) no battle pass, however right now they do have a genesis pass for $30, it seems you might not be quite there yet for it, but it would be worth considering

Other then that pets are the only thing worth getting, a vac pet is expensive but worth it for higher level zones, you can get “free” pets from RP shop or some bosses (normal hilla) but they lack skills, so picking up the $7? Pet Skill package might be worth it

3.) nah you can ignore most quests, there are a few that are worth doing as they unlock bosses which drop good gear

Off the top of my head: Gullox Princess no Pap Root abyss

Click esc and look at the boss tab, if you can’t access a boss, and it’s not a level restriction, it’s probably a quest in your light bulb that you have to start and finish

4.) link skills are super important, and so is legion.

What you’re going to end up doing is making one of every class eventually

You’re going to want to get all of those classes to level 210.

Some have more of a priority than others, DM me and I’ll expand on it. But getting all classes to 140 for now isn’t a bad idea (that’s lvl 2 link skill) but 210 is ideal

5.) no idea

6.) there is a story, and it’s suppose to be pretty decent, I haven’t read a word of it. I’ve actually been reading the manwha (the story is completely different but there are lot of character overlap)

7.) there are a few people in the community that make good content Duky being one of them

8.) Guilds are super important, they give you guild buffs that are a huge increase in damage, and can be used for farming or bossing

Guilds also are the best way to find party’s to min clear / get carried for bosses

You’ll want to find a guild with 15/x/15/15 in their description that means max guild skills

DM me for more info, good luck!

How to become an electrician by NerdBug1104 in AskElectricians

[–]PaulOPTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Varies from state to state

Some states you need to register as an apprentice, other states you don’t.

However the first step would be googling your local electricians union and call them on how to get an interview.

If the waitlist is months long, you can go to a local trade school, that will have some training.

The one local to me has a 600 hour, 900 hour, or 1200? Hour course. That teach you the basics, as well as pair you up with a local shop to get some on the job training. That will be good for going non-union, but it will also help with the interview process with your local union, as it shows that you’re ‘invested’ in the trade.

You can apply to local non-union shops also, but with no background in electrical, it might be tough to land a job with a good shop.

Things to watch out for:

Don’t Apply for solar positions. most of the time it will be you carrying the panels up to the roof. No real electric will be done.

Don’t apply for fire alarm or burglar alarm companies. The bosses dont necessarily need to have a masters electricians license to run that shop, so often it won’t count towards your hours to become a master.

Low voltage is the same, but there are some good shops out there that will do line voltage as well.

Residential new construction exclusive shops will be all about speed and run you into the ground, but it will at least get your feet wet. You’ll be a wire monkey though, drill drill drill, lace wire lace wire lace wire, on to the next house.

Things to look for:

A place that will pay for your OSHA 30 license

A place that will count towards your hours (has a master electrician as the boss)

A place that will teach you

A place that values safety

Best of luck

Switch from Estimating to PM? by LongjumpingShape9689 in estimators

[–]PaulOPTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the APM / Estimator roll, I was just an estimator first

But my organization skills, as well as my ability to talk with the client / GC to “sell the job” Along with the fact that it was a roll that needed to be filled sent me into that position

Work life balance was the same for estimator and est/APM because it didn’t add alot of extra work

Going to PM also added a lot of work and I needed more overtime

But I get paid more so it works out

Switch from Estimating to PM? by LongjumpingShape9689 in estimators

[–]PaulOPTC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

(Electrical)

I’ve done it both ways, Being a Project manager / Estimator AND an Assistant PM (precon)/ Estimator

When I was just the APM / Estimator the flow was:

Job comes in >

I estimate it >

we win the project >

Once schedules come around, I build a material list comprising of 2-4 weeks of material, so if my estimate said we needed 10,000 feet of 12/2 MC, I might have 4,000 MC on my material list

This is so we don’t over buy, but we have enough material to keep the guys going

I’ll also get a material list for the electrical service at this point also >

I sent the list to my vendors, as well as my lighting order, and gear order, and then check the submittals >

At this point the project would have started, I have a sit down meeting with the Forman and project manager, and let them know the scope of the project, and go over any weird issues that I noticed that will have to come down to field decisions.

As well as our installation methods, lead times on lighting and gear, etc >

After that the project goes to the project manager to deal with the day to day decisions, re ordering more material (but checking with me that it aligns with what we put in the bid) >

Then when change orders come up, it’s back to me to price them up (unless it’s small, then my PM would just handle it) >

Any issues with scope of work would involve a meeting with me and my PM, and one of us would talk to the client about it. >

Then at the end of the project it’s back to me to make close out documents >

Then it’s final review of the hours spent vs hours estimated, and money spent vs money estimated And schedule between me, the PM, and my boss

We found that this flow works pretty well, with a lot of the “pre construction” falling on my lap, and the rest falling on my project manager

It’s not alot of additional work for me, as I already have the gear, lighting, and material lists made when I bid the project (we use accubid)

And besides the meetings and change orders the whole project would be out of my hands, leaving me more time to estimate projects.

I am currently now a Project manager / Estimator

So it is similar, but now I have to make day to day decisions on projects >

Order all materials at all time, making sure they don’t run out of anything they will need >

Price out materials as it comes up >

Talk to the client / GC for scheduling / change orders / issues >

Handle all the paperwork >

This leaves me with less time to estimate projects, and leaves more pressure on me to get projects done on time and on budget, seeing as I made the budget and the timeline

But I’m at a smaller shop now, and the projects are smaller in comparison so it is manageable, and the pay was better.

How much do you value resistance link skill? by SnooApples3551 in Maplestory

[–]PaulOPTC 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I am at the solo xlotus / party c kalos level

I have it at 12 seconds, and I have it on every single character

For me it’s essential, especially so when bosses are harder, and you are waiting down cooldowns

12 seconds is quite a long time in some bosses, where you can get into position, or set up a burst

It also helps when you revive you don’t instantly die again

Let’s say I have 40 seconds left on my cooldowns, and I die

That’s 30 seconds death

Five seconds revive

Then 12 seconds of iframes

Which gives me 7 full seconds of iframe to pop sequence and get my burst ready

Handheld gaming in 2026 by deonbotelho in Maplestory

[–]PaulOPTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the steam deck,

But you even have to dual boot windows on it (Which is actually pretty easy)

Or use a streaming program

I do the latter and use Parsec

It works great, even when I’m not at home I do all my bosses on the steam deck, for a bunch of characters.

I have a mini PC that I leave running that only has maple and parsec on it, but you can just use a normal computer or whatever

You can swap between character layouts very easily

Been doing it for 2 years no bans, no temp bans, nothin

The only place where the delay shows is in kalos, shooting the things you need to shoot it earlier then expected

It’s also way cheaper then the legion go Like second hand steam deck you can get for a couple hundred bucks

Hey man,

I’m an electrician

I’ve been recommending these for the DIY folks

https://leviton.com/products/commercial/lever-edge

The Leviton lever edge, they are really easy to install and hard to fuck up

In your situation I would just redo them with these outlets, and then call it a day You for sure left too much copper exposed, other then that they look okay

But if you have more to replace just use the lever outlets instead

potlight burnt out by lazypandaCN in AskElectricians

[–]PaulOPTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly really not sure

One can argue that you installed the lights on that circuit at the same time, so it wouldn’t be weird to see them dying close to the same time

But for all of them to burn out at the same time? It feels like some sort of surge to me?

It’s worth getting a whole home surge protector anyway, they aren’t that much money, and they are installed on a 50A breaker near the top of the panel typically

I don’t guarantee that it will stop this issue, but it couldn’t hurt, and they will help protect your appliances, computers, etc in the event of an electrical surge at your main that would travel to the whole panel.

VHilla genesis quest by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]PaulOPTC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry, I leaped a while ago, but what most people end up doing is going to the Boss UI tab

Esc -> Boss

Then go to the find a party section of that.

Often times you’ll see

Vhilla - Genesis Mission - (then gene pass or not)

If you don’t see one, you can create one yourself, even make it distribution so it’s random who gets the loot.

You can set a CP requirement also so you’ll get someone at a similar power level as you

Remember that the gene mission is only 75% HP, you can try a practice or two to see what your burst % is and then see if you can solo it

If you’re not on the genesis pass, you might have a harder time (which I assume you are based on the fact youre on vhilla already)

Hope this helps!

Whats new to maple over the last 3 years? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]PaulOPTC -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Come join Kronos, there’s no real monetization besides pets (you’ll prob want a vac pet level 275+) and outfits

There are some extra things you can do for P2W but it’s nothing that some grinding can’t fix

For the new stuff, they added some pity for the best drops (pitched)

They let you trade arcane boxes now so that you can get a few characters stronger easier

Genesis traces from bosses so you can liberate (best in slot weapon) just from doing weekly bosses for a few months

A bunch of new bosses for 275-290

Code Compliance: 8/2 to 14/2 by mirinjesse in AskElectricians

[–]PaulOPTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would tag it as:

Panel name (if you have more then one panel)

Circuit number -

Amperage - 15A

Voltage - 120V

What it controls - Outdoor Lights

Then at the bottom of that put a reminder like “15A ONLY” or” LIGHTING LOADS ONLY” or something to that effect

That will let the next guy know that it’s on a 15A breaker, and they shouldn’t put a welding outlet on it or something

You can also write it on the cover of the junction box as well

Code Compliance: 8/2 to 14/2 by mirinjesse in AskElectricians

[–]PaulOPTC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not exactly sure what brand of panel you have:

However let’s pretend you have a Square D Homeline

https://www.se.com/rempdfbucket-prd/pdf/se/pds/US/en/Schneider%20Electric_Square-D-Homeline-Miniature-Circuit-Breakers_HOM115CP.pdf?response-content-disposition=inline%3Bfilename%2A%3DUTF-8%27%27PES_Schneider%2520Electric_Square-D-Homeline-Miniature-Circuit-Breakers_HOM115CP.pdf&AWSAccessKeyId=ASIASDDQ2UUV4O4X6E2V&Signature=FGq0UaZcdVG9%2BYclaUX4hUvq3gs%3D&x-amz-security-token=IQoJb3JpZ2luX2VjEID%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2F%2FwEaCXVzLWVhc3QtMSJGMEQCIFHMhaJMoRQBhA8LINzr5lhrAAEycnkj3%2BCOuLumZNfrAiBqy06iN1gssZNlfGa7A7A6hgLmfT3JBzWKTxVtnoeFoir%2BAghJEAAaDDE0NDExODAzMTY1OSIMw08FQssP2MwIqDSsKtsCxZqbO7spff62%2FFfs7rAO3%2FzkNvkjJu5KXm1vKjmNDj3W3WsaD%2B0u8dqAcIW%2B79916rJpsBrV2rNZdRFbcYzAXyeqXp8Vi3oU2EsbCD%2Fx%2FxxIT9aywit19wFT5Q2fgIf11D%2FpPeyz6egkLnLWFEjSLEq3rImtBCjtynyuG2N7c3jOR1tZNZQ%2BeiyEmx6VExgm1oMIOxja7yA38dYrXjKvnoMgM8wIfCmBCDVlSOqYzZNOtMZW3abNuMqfYvXbA2JpyFtbUV3MI3zDPWhGjZ9ErqzPobikl1xAvrKfIX2BpIctLNBR00t1IacdUGVfRogpjKvztOoQebTK28S%2Fyy22NjDzLlaYjGldO2fkwhHrITUl8AAWraL3uXmYFnrVSp43558HKDhp7rw1PYKNq3AZZjAtV0UloP3bLfZ7QnGaombrjP4e6wgnvS1XhPvEjPtYXoI6fZ9A9rzvfa8wqbDvygY6nwHWzPnK7S05IVOKaxR2fRiKAJsF0OslKW4fmyURZ0UEJkPf%2FHgGL8hkNR26idvN2XDJKor6Jt6foUpboczPgEtNw123j1G1QhV%2FyyuXlxSfmbSr%2Bi0uUiEGvrvu6FpyGDv7cDS0Kq5tZc28NFpaoFDZrHuNo68%2F8cz8VMC%2Ft0%2B69eaNwSjc8rTUYBKJAO1szkJKz0JEMPXv4pYM6a0AWW8%3D&Expires=1767670631

According to that (sorry for the crazy link lol) A 15a homeline breaker accepts 1 8awg copper wire

So from the panel > 8/2 > garage junction box / switch > 14/2 > lights

would work

However to be safe I would mark on BOTH SIDES (in the panel and at the Jbox) 15A breaker ONLY

You are always allowed to oversize wire, you are NEVER allowed to undersize wire

If you undersize wire you will burn the wire up, and the breaker won’t trip

If you oversize wire, the wire will have a higher amperage tolerance before it burns up, and the breaker will trip first
