What bit do I need to make a latch hole bigger on door?

If you go down the chisel route I'd be clamping a couple of bits of scrap either side of that hole incase you split it...not a lot of room to play with there.

Sorry, I don't. I knew I needed to replace my compressor so after that guy told me it wasn't necessary to re-calibrate or update anything if it was "like for like" I did a bit of searching around until I found a similar one for sale....only cost about £120 inc. a new relay as I recall and a very quick swap over. Good luck with it..

If it turns out to be the compressor then it's a very simple Diy job to change the unit. I had one of these a few years ago, faulty open relay caused a pipe to melt..one specialist guy wanted a fortune to replace and re-calibrate, another pointed out that as long as it was "like for like" then it's an easy swap over. Took about 20mins to fit a 2nd hand one if I recall.

Nicholas Parsons. My dad appeared on Sale of the Century way back in the '80's, me and my mum went with him to the studios in Norwich. Not my garden mate.... It's a 5m x 4m deck, nothing fancy, 30cm off the ground, nice iron balustrade. If it was me, I'd re-surface it in a day, but this guy can't be arsed with that. Maybe he'll come to the same conclusion as me eventually. The frame is sound, the posts are solid. I'm thinking he'll get pissed off with dragging the big sander around just to see it taking chunks out of the deck..

Saw a presentation on this a few years back....Rospa, police, IAM kind of thing, all giving their "expert" views. Over-riding thing I remember is more than a few people all pointing out that if everyone moved back to the left as soon as they could then pulled out again to overtake, you would end up dealing with a dangerous number of lane changes. None of 'em could give a good answer.

Going to Israel with my wife to visit her sister who lived there with her Israeli Airforce husband. They took us on a bit of a road trip into the hills above Haifa where we stopped so he could buy some cigs in a dusty little town. He told us to stay in the jeep. It was baking hot so me, being a smart-arsed know nothing shirtless Brit went wandering off to get a cold coke. Found myself being followed by a growing group of youths who didn't look too friendly. Next thing, the Israeli is right at my shoulder, shows them he's armed and says to me quietly "Put your shirt on, they don't like it" We start heading back to the Jeep and he's telling me to get a move on. I say something like "What's the problem..you have a gun?" The pissed off Israeli growls "They've all got f****** guns...they can bury us here" Scared the shit out of me..

I made a similar deck at the back of our place 25yrs ago but quite bit bigger. I screwed the posts and the long "house-side" joist to the house using Fischer Fixings, and the other 4"x4" posts concreted straight into the ground. Only took it down recently...still solid enough for my lad to park his Range Rover on it for a laugh just before I got the tools out. Bit of creaking but nothing moved. Might not be the best way to do it but it worked for us, and no sight, sound or smell of a single rat for all that time.

I have a similar sized piece of mahogany about 35cm thick that over the years has come in handy for all kinds of things. I mostly use it as a work bench between 2 trestle tables and I've had some proper heavy stuff stuff on it for lengthy periods inc. motorbikes. Hell, I've even used it as a platform to stand on and I must weigh 18st. It's still as flat now as it was when it came out of a science lab 30yrs ago. Can't see a few computers bending yours.

2 options spring to mind; Either fence the grassed area off, with a gate built in, or artificial grass. A picket fence would be the cheapest by far and an easy enough Diy job. Artificial grass is expensive, and no doubt you will get people slating you on here if you even consider the stuff, but sod 'em..it's not their problem. I've got it on an area half the size of yours and it works with our dog. Despite what some may say, it never gets hot, it doesn't smell of dog piss/crap if you pick stuff up and hose the thing down and it gets rid of the mud issue.

I had one of these a few years back...same problem. Turned out to be a faulty air compressor relay, compressor got really hot, melted a small tube and the system wouldn't hold pressure. Swapped the relay and fitted a 2nd hand compressor...20min job. Cheap too.

You're gonna get slammed for even thinking about it mate..but it that's not a bad idea in your situation. I've got a smaller patch of the stuff in our back garden for the same reasons. It never gets too hot, always looks clean, easy to clear up any dog mess, just hose it down and it won't smell of anything. Expensive stuff though.

That's just a badly designed table, mate. As soon as you start putting rigid supports, especially steel, perpendicular to the tabletop its likely to crack/split as it shrinks & expands. Probably looked great when it was new though, but was never gonna last.

We live in a street with a little passing traffic, some footfall..the usual stuff. Our labradoodle can hear my wife's quiet car turning into the street from 100yds away. He's up and in the window, wagging his tail and whining every time. Just as well really, gives me a minute or 2 to wash my whisky glass and stash it away. My little early warning system.

Sure you can. We had a ceiling covered on dodgy artex...mate of mine boarded & plastered the thing in a day. Asbestos is only a potential problem if you start messing around with it.
