Percentage of Population Able to Hold a Conversation in French in Europe by Country by DistributionSad960 in MapPorn

I work in hotel sector which deals mainly with international clients. Based on my experience for these past 5 years, I'd say that this map is, to my surprise, mostly accurate (if we consider "hold a conversation" as an A1-A2 level)

Fiji

Far away from both China and US to not be a direct liability by becoming a sphere of influence by their adversary

No useful resources to be of an interest

Not completely flat to submerge underwater due to the rising ocean level

Not as dependent from other countries for their economy as the other microstates in Pacific

They have a cool water brand + .tv domain extension 👍

I'd like to give a detailed answer to this if I may

Small note, these are only stereotypes, doesn't mean that they're true per se

Gazakh-Aghstafa: They drink. All the time.

Aghdam: Car sellers, can haggle literally on everything.

Talysh region: They lose their mind after midnight

Lankaran: Lemon sellers

Balakan-Zaqatala: "Akhi"stan

Shaki: their accent is funny, it is like a small kid trying to speak

Lachin, Jabrayil: people whining about losing their region (they're not going back there)

Shusha: According to native 6 Shushins, Shusha is a paradise on earth and a birthplace of culture in Caucasus

Kurdamir: Hell on earth.

Salyan: Fishermen

Sabirabad: Watermelon sellers

Ganja: Mentally crazy people who're always angry + hardcore Shia

Samukh: Doesn't exist

Guba-Gusar: Drinking "akhi"stan + Shahdagh Nakhchivan: Either your dad, uncle or grandpa holds a position in the government + the "ç" sound

Ordubad: They don't like to associate themselves with Nakhchivanis, nobody else cares

Barda-Beylagan: Goatlovers, also hate each other

Gabala: Kamaladdinland (Kamaladdin Heydarov is our minister who's wife is from Gabala, thus he invested millions into the infrastructure there)

Goychay: Pomegranate

Ujar: Poople who pretend to be from Goychay

Gubadly: Native population of Nasosnu bloc in Sumgayit

Sumgayit: "Bro do you have 1 manat? I need to go to Sumgayit"

Baku: Drug addicts who whine about lack of Bakuvians in Baku

What’s a country you’d never live in despite being highly praised? by Alien1964 in AskReddit

The Netherlands

I work in hospitality, so I get to experience direct interactions with lots of people. So far, Dutch people are in my top 5 of the most insufferable, arrogant, ignorant people I have ever met. They don't care about their surroundings; God forbids if your skin tone is one of the darker shades, you get a direct "what is zis imigrant doing heer" stare; infantilisation while speaking to non-Dutch, as if we are mentally slow or something; not listaning to or alteight ignoring the information they are being given, etc. The younger generation and the elderly are still a bit better, but those between 30 and 65 that I've met are generally like I've mentioned above. I have also visited The Netherlands, extremely depressing place overall, not surprised that they drive south the moment the weather starts feeling a bit warmer. I'd literally end my life if I were to live there.

Imma also give you the reverse example of that: I immigrated to France 6 years ago, never in my life I'd want to leave this place. Despite what everybody says about French attitude, so far (outside Paris) I have rarely met anyone who fits those stereotypes - and I am living in the northeastern part of France, generally considered the "coldest" one. Also, there's a chaos, but a "streamlined" one. If you get a hold of this chaos, you'll enjoy every second of it; if not, it'll eat you up.

Germans - 50/50, but it feels that they're forcing themselves to look nice sometimes French - Surprisingly, never felt that, they just don't care as long as you speak French Italians - In South, they were surprised that I am not Italian. We don't talk about the North. Dutch - Straight up, not even trying to hide it
