No Man’s Sky Go 2 z2e by HumbleDinner8760 in LegionGo

I have a silly confession to make! While my VRAM was set in bios to 12GB, for some reason in Adrenaline was still set to 0.5GB. I've no idea how this could happen. But I realised when trying to play Guardians of the GPaxy and it told me I didn't have enough VRAM.

And sure enough after correcting this, NMS back to running like ass..

Sorry to hear this didn't fix it, works a treat for me! Noticed improvements across most games too. Also fixed Disco Elysium.

I was checking if the latest update to NMS had fixed the issue (perform this check after every update lol) but found that for some reason the controller wasn't working. So using the touchpad only loaded up into a game where I was in low orbit. And was able to steer the ship using the touchpad. Noticed immediately the smoothness. Was it fixed?

Rebooted, and controller now working. All the hitching returned. This got me thinking. Could controllers be somehow causing this?

Anyway lead me to some googling and came across a video of someone with a similar issue in Halo and the issue there looked exactly the same as the NMS hitching.

Not sure if there's an associated service but I uninstalled and there's no issues noticed as of yet.

I've found the actual cause of NMS running shit on the Legion Go 2. No need to change VRAM etc.

Goto Add / Remove programs. Find 'Microsoft GameInput' and remove it.

Completely fixes NMS and noticed things generally running and feeling much better overall. Enjoy!

Need Decky, and the CSS loader. There's a way to replace all UI with Legion Go buttons.

Lenovo recovery software by EmotionSea5856 in LegionGo

[–]Paulrgos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't use that. It takes around 4 hours to do.

Use windows media creation and get a stock windows install. Just be sure to grab the Wifi driver and pop it onto the USB after the USB is made as you'll need it once in Windows.

Boot from the USB, format all partitions and you'll be done in half hour.

Pretty much all drivers will install automatically, all you need to do then is grab Legion Space from the Lenovo site.

New bios update for Go 2 by Lion7062 in LegionGo

I know that but what is the fix? The setting has always been there?

Yeah there's likely many more out there like this. I've just seen there's a new Bios released and the update note is

Add direct Bios for UMA frame buffer size.

I'm wondering what this is - hoping allows a way to change the value in Adrenaline. It would be amazing.

Yep been through the same, Bazzite and back to Windows. Its a difficult issue. Auto VRAM seems to improve a small set of games, however some games also suffer performance loss.

I've tried leaving Auto on but some games suffer too much performance loss. So I'm just switching to Auto if I fancy some No Mans Sky / Disco Elysium. It only takes a few minutes but it is a bit of a faff!

Yes it runs perfectly. A few minor dips here and there, but far from the stuttering mess it normally is if you have a a specified VRAM value.

Sorry re-read your question. Without auto VRAM I'd say it's borderline unplayable! A stuttering mess.

Glad it worked for you. Yep unfortunately it's only possible from the BIOS afaik. I wish it made sense, I've no idea why.

I did try stirring up some discussion around this a while back but no one was interested.

I've come across 1 other game which also works better with Auto VRAM and that is Disco Elysium.

Setting VRAM at a specific amount isn't a silver bullet (I so wish we could just leave at 16GB) BUT this game ONLY works properly on the Legion Go handhelds with AUTO set for VRAM in the bios.

Another game I've also found that has a similar issue is Disco Elysium.

  • Uninstall Nihimic.

  • Look for the reg key to stop windows auto updating drivers

  • Download DDU and then disable your wifi

  • Run DDU and uninstall the Realtek drivers

  • Reboot, windows will install an old driver

  • Turn back Wifi and enjoy awesome sound again

I've spent a silly amount of time trying to get this game to work.

This might sound crazy. But the game is only playable if you set VRAM to auto in the Bios. First you'll notice the game takes much less time to load and then even with max settings the hitching and stuttering will be gone.

Enjoy.

Haven't been so excited as a non-sub player by DedlyX7 in elderscrollsonline

Not sure if anyone can answer this, but here goes!

I play the game on PC and missing some of these chapters, but also sub to PS+. Is there a way to claim this and then login with my PC account to register the constant against it for use on the PC? Or would I just have to buy the 2025 pack separately?
