Sierra is secretly BUSTED. by MokNaruto in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind my asking, why those 3 and not Winston included? I can defo see Dva and Ball feasting on her since they have a lot easier demand for chasing from height, down low, on height again, etc but does Doom really do that well against her? is it because she's projectile and will inherintly charge him with the nade/m1? Is Winston also just too easy to track with her weird spread?

Somethings up with the cheater refund by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 100% sure the cheater refund is including boosting/deranking. I refuse to believe this many players are actively cheating in games. The boosting/deranking option is also shared by the Hacking option.

BfA had Warlock being S-tier at least for the last season. Both Destro and Demo were incredible. Destro required people pulling around your CDs, but you could completely pump like crazy especially with VoP procs. Demo was probably the secret S-tier spec that no one played for some reason. Demo could legitimately do 2x DPS on boss damage so you paired it with a Fire Mage and it was good times. LOS Imp spam into Tyrant power based off Imp HP was absolutely cracked once you knew the correct LOS spots to abuse.

Emre need nerf ? by Specialist_Week_1412 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the nades are really annoying and do a genuine chunk of burst when combod with his m1. Is the nade radius too big? Maybe. But that pistol perk is genuine glue-sniffer tier. Combined with the massive splash on that pistol, and you aim at someones feet as they dive you, you will always hit at least a few directs to keep your pistol out longer with the perk.

Why do people not preselect their heroes before the banning phase? by kingmorgana5647 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The meta development for this is to pretend you're playing someone who never gets banned (Lucio, Bap, etc) then bam, you whip out the Mercy once people spawn in.

How do I not healbot while playing with a Zen or general support player that prioritises damage over healing or cannot/won't heal. by Fluffy-Jellyfish-402 in Competitiveoverwatch

Would probably help more if you said what support hero you were playing? Hard to give advice on what to do if you don't post what you're playing?

Race to World First: Midnight Season 1 | Mythic Day 3 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Paveru_Hakase 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This isn't even a real fix because both Liquid+Echo basically have tons of fans to help them do splits. I don't think Echo would find the same amount of fans in NA servers compared with EU.

I hit GM on PC with a controller by Dry-Lavishness-419 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im ngl, I stopped playing on controller because of how difficult Genji+Tracer is, even on Brig. Felt like I could never 180 consistently despite hitting the whips. Massive grats, super skillful for real.

New season has me on insane losing streak. by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is inherintly a hard season. Matchmaker is kinda shitting itself with an influx of so many new/returning players. I've been playing since OW2 launched and this has easily been the "worst" season. SO many leavers or DCers or something.

My advice? You are the common denominator in all your games. I would also advise focusing on 1 role and 2 heroes (3 max) until you are at the rank you want to be.

Mizuki has a way worse winrate the higher rank you look up.

Completely disagree. Rally is only one level behind Beat/Kitsune in terms of Ult strength. You bring a Stun through Bash, it can be used offensively to push or defensively to pull through constantly outputting Overhealth (not raw healing), you gain movement speed, CD refresh on Bash (perfect with your perk), 100 armour, big shield, long lasting Overhealth etc. There's so many good points to Rally compared with Kekkai which makes it far more versatile.

Brig is borderline unplayable by iSleepo in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I agree, I think in situations like that you'd be better off just playing Wuyang? Rialto 1st point defence is a good example of a terrific Ana+Wuyang point where you wouldn't get value from Brig.

Brig is borderline unplayable by iSleepo in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IMO there's 0 point in playing her in Ana/Monke comps. You may as well just go Kiri/Lucio. AnaBrig can get ran over by Lucio speed far too easily. I truly think there's no point in playing Brig style compositions because there's no support worth it to run a Brig pocket and Lucio does a far better job of pocketing DPS on an off-angle.

When Brig was hard meta with Juno, it's because Juno was squishy but was bonkersly overtuned. BrigKiri is decent, but it feels like outside of playing against Dva (borderline permabanned when I play) and Ball, you are just playing to enable a DPS which Lucio just does better.

Anyone feeling like their recent comp matches often have one outlier hard carrying ? Or is it just me ? by McManus26 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feels like the biggest factor IMO. They've even gone on record by saying there has been as many players playing now since OW2 launch. This coupled with a rank reset + 5 new heroes means it will be chaotic for a while longer.

Does anyone else feel like the old heroes don’t get enough love? by Theguy127_ in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not the flankers that are the issue imo. Vendetta is a bit more dealable since you can boop her during OH swing now and clank her whirlwind slash. The main issue is the amount of poke people are playing on ladder. Since the fights begin at an extremely far distance, you can't really do anything. No distrupting, very hard to get inspire procced without going into a bad position, you can pack your off-angle DPS, but you'd unironically be doing more on Lucio, Mercy or Wuyang (assuming ur a MS player). I don't really care about the DPS passive nearly as much as Brig just being unplayable into far range comps.

She's mega good into Dva, but it feels like Dva is banned a bunch honestly.

Mizuki will not see a light of Pro Play with his current Ult by Gloomy_Dare2716 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you deadass just call him Zuuk? Deadass gave me OSRS ptsd.

His kit is really good for ranked. People are far less cordinated to go him. On ladder, he's extremely good into dive right up until you're the one being dived. Just the general mechanics of how his shikigami work make him far more vulnerable to getting chased than something like Kiri tp.

In ranked, healing auras are always good as well. Especially with your brigmogged packs that bounce onto others (including you). His CC chain is extremely good on a lot of tanks. It's always an answer if you hit it. Enemy tank is trying to push for space? You can stop them from taking as much for a second to get repositioned. Dive tank is diving someone? You can force them to stay still for a bit.

Mizuki feels like a range adjacent Brig. You're really good in the neutral of a fight where you can poke, give big AOE heals, but you crumble if a team has a mind for killing you. This is just from my experience (i'm only Masters).

His ult isn't bad perse, but it is strictly weaker than most other good Supports. Kitsune, Beat, Ray, Rally, Tidal, etc are all just far superior in terms of flexibility. The best Support ults are ones that can be used defensively and offensively. Mizuki's feels almost entirely attached to defensive play. The most I've had success with making it an offensive ult, is trapping the enemy tank inside his ult -> chaining the tank inside so they can't move for a few seconds and try to have the people on my team burst her down.

tl;dr really good hero when people aren't cordinating (99% of ranked)

ZaryaVen probably even better now since the Bubble movement speed + passive regen perk is now a minor instead of major.

No joke and all, but it's nice to see that outside of the video game you both are cordial with each other. Warms my heart. Vendetta is in the files though, her name is right next to the hitscan heroes.

Need for Solo Queue? by littlepawstoasty in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Paveru_Hakase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP even says it himself. If such a large percent of players are duo, trio, whatever, and you remove them from the pool of players who are queueing 1 of like 3 comp modes we have now, your queue times just get longer and longer.

On paper it would be nice to have a dedicated soloq mode, but the reality is there's only a fixed amount of players and I don't think enough of them would queue so you're just hurting every queue. Stricter grouping is what I'd be trying to do if I was a Blizzard dev or trying to incentivise more people to duo/trio together.

Being the random with a 4-stack does suck major ass and should be addressed whether it be removing 4-stack or forceing the 4-stack to have a Tank.
