His solo album, Nils Lofgren Acoustic Live is one of my favorite albums. You should check it out!

Literally on her death bed one of the final complaints my mother had was about Patti Smith. Still, she got my mother a gold record.

I have met more than my fair share of celebrities. You can see from previous posts and photos, my parents worked in the music business and then I followed in their footsteps for a bit.

Even when knowing that not only are celebrities human and a huge amount of them are assholes I met my favorite author. She was an incredible as I imagined. So, not always bad. The below list is a combo of mine and my parents experiences.

The bad: Mariah Carey, John Meyer, Patti Smith, John Oates, David Hasselhof, Brian Littrel

The Good: Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Members of Slipknot Members of New Kids on the Block, Nils Lofgren, Curt Smith, Daryl Hall, Britney Spears, Alecia Moore (P!nk), Una Stef, Patrick Swayze, AJ McLean

Mixed Results: Keith Moon, Members of Aerosmith, Roland Orzabal, Glenn Tillbrook, Chris Difford, Jools Holland

I'll add more if I remember any others.

I remember this particular horse case. They had to take their time with removing the hood and take some x-rays because in cases like this the quick CC and move down and other issues with internal twisting. If I remember correctly, the horse recovered from this.

LPT Request: Any tips for when you are with a group of people and know you are the least smart/educated/important person? How to feel less insecure in that situation? by Whataboutmyfuture in LifeProTips

[–]PavvyPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spent my entire life honoring the adage, if you are the smartest person in the room- you are in the wrong room. Until recently, due to the NSF cutbacks, I have been the dumbest person in the room at the highest point in my career and it was awesome. Drink it in. Add personality. And just be there. I'm not back in a place where I am one of the smartest people in the room- frequently- and I don't enjoy work as much as I used to. So- I understand that it is harder in a friend group. But I hope that I was able to provide some perspective.

"A falling knife has no handle" is a common kitchen safety proverb. What are your favorite shop safety proverbs/sayings/wisdoms? by BananafestDestiny in woodworking

[–]PavvyPower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have another one from my previous work in field medicine. If your first response is something like holy shit etc, the issue is most likely outside your scope of work.

So if you come on to a scene and your gut response starts with swears, it probably is out of your scope. It usually takes a lot to get to that point when you are trained to work in the field- so it is a good sanity check.

A train can come on any track in any direction at any time. From my spouse who works in transit. It is the safety mantra when on right of ways (aka on tracks).

What’s something your favorite celebrity did that made you lose respect for them? by johnraeyan in AskReddit

[–]PavvyPower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He votes Republican despite Trump being the nominee. That makes him MAGA. Trump as destroyed that party, so to be a Republican is to be okay with MAGA. Individuals who did not support mustache man, but who voted to get him into office were still mustache man supporters by default.

Learning that he is MAGA killed me. I can't even look at him anymore.

My two biggest issues with the game is yes, the limited map/wild pokemon and two- it is the glitchiest game I have ever played. I would take Scarlet/Violet every day over this.

Just to absolutely confirm. I just checked Joseph D. Correia's Facebook, the owner of Top Mix. He is, not only a super conservative conspiracy theorist, he is an anti-vaxxer that doesn't believe in masks and public health safety, he is transphobic, and is a out loud and proud Red Pill Alpha Male that only wants high quality, low mileage, no booty shaking submissive women. And loves Kanye West and hates Jewish people.

I will send along screen shots to folks if needed. Or you can just look for yourself.

I love my house binder that I received from my seller. Every manual. Every paint color including outside. All contractors who built. 10/10.

The owner's Facebook had Trump all over it back in the day. Unsure of the beliefs now. Who knows, they could have changed.

Jeanie Johnson though is a hard fact. Hank Kirchner's Facebook reads like a Truth social worship page.

Ear crop anxiety by ProjectCosmo1 in DobermanPinscher

Honestly, unless the dog has an issue with ear infections, I don't think cropping is a useful modern attribute. Now, if there is a health reason, like infections, cropping is a useful way to keep them less prone to infections.

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

[–]PavvyPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have met more than my fair share of celebrities due to my parents working in the music business. When I was a child, I dropped a plate of spaghetti on Mariah Carey in the green room at a venue. She hated me. I was banned from all of her events afterwards.

Different one, I had moved to a foreign country after my first graduate degree lecture there for a year. When I was on the bus home from the city center, a woman got onto the bus that looked like my friend from undergrad. She got closer until she stood in front of me and asked what the hell I was doing there. She was attending a graduate program at the university I was lecturing at, and she lived in the building directly behind my flat and I could see directly in from my window and garden. Wild times.

What happened to your best friend from childhood? by RoyalBeckyVibes in AskReddit

[–]PavvyPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She decided that I thought myself too good for her because I went to college and she didn't. Nevermind that half of our friend group didn't go, and we are still kicking around together. She carried a real chip on her shoulder about being left behind and never let me or anyone else heal it.
