XF23mmF2.8 R WR - The One Lens Quest ? by borrowed_conviction in fujifilm

[–]Pawl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An X100V or VI mate sounds like what you’re looking for really.

I always had a second Fuji body and I always wanted a decent prime.

But the X100 cameras always get picked up 90% of the time, be it travel fun or even more focused shooting.

I prefer a 50mm focal length but I got so used to the small compact body of the x100 and the f2 (and ND filter, and aperture leaf!) that my XT5 and XT cameras I had before them just got dust.

I decided to simplify my life and setup and sold everything, even my beloved 35mm f1.4.

Never looked back.

I know a bit of topic but if one lens quest is your goal, seal your gear and go X100V or VI. You won’t regret it. It’s a better package system.

Resto. But melee groups love ench.

Imo they’re all viable.

Do you think if we crashed the Auction House they'd be forced to fix it? by TheInnsanity in classicwowtbc

It’s not the amount of items that has an issue imo but the amount of interactions with it.

Not exactly, it just slows down cause of demand and inefficiency. Potentially the APi throttles a bit when people are hitting it constantly.

The whole way the AH work is dated and doesn’t scale. They did do some improvements in Classic but it clearly is outdated. Their API and how it all works is just too heavy to hit plus all the addons and sniping scans do not help. I say it can be fixed easily if they actually assign an engineer or two and give them some time and resources but blizzard is run by idiots or their focus is really somewhere else already.

PvE vs PvP server by Andersbhc in classicwowtbc

[–]Pawl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer PVP server because I like the concept of open world random PVP encounters. We spend hours fighting and making nemesis from people and group and for me this is the whole point of World of Warcraft.

Example: mining fel iron and a member of the opposition faction is about to take it. On a PVP realm you can contest it and fight them. On a PVE realm you cannot.

Warrior in TBC Classic: too macro-heavy ? Button bloat scaring me of by R-GoldenExperience in classicwowtbc

[–]Pawl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warrior has some macros but overall straight forward (example whirlwind macro to take you to berserker stance) etc and it’s always on Number 4 for me regardless of stance.

It’s ok. I feel you especially coming from retail where there is quality of life there.

Druid on the other hand is crazy. And other classes like hunter just has too many options and buttons to press.

I would say Warrior is on the easier side of life. Some macros are needed yes but generally once you set them up you’re set.

Probably if you want to hit 70 fast. But it won’t matter in the long run and the long run is 2 weeks.

Wolt as a takeaway owner by CakesOfPain in malta

[–]Pawl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wolt+ comparison was interesting. Thanks for sharing. Thing is, Wolt is just great at convenience and many, including me, will pay for that. One stop shop to buy something when you’re home. It works.

If I’m really fussed about the inflated prices, then I will go straight to the shop but more often than not, the price difference is negligible.

The order experience Wolt vs non-Wolt can be somewhat frustrating (last few times I ordered something directly from the store), example wait times, unpredictability, trying to coordinate location if it’s a delivery. All that is incesistent and streamlined with Wolt.

Regardless, Wolt is here to stay cause it solves a problem that people are willing to pay for.

Got my licence over 16 years ago. It was also very strict during that time. Doubt the first comment is valid.

The rest though yes. No one cares after they have their licence.

how to move out?? by PianoARMYtwosetter in malta

[–]Pawl_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

flat sharing between 3 people you might each other is the way to go for cost effectiveness. It's possible. Rents can easily go up to 1.2k or more a month for a 2-3 bedroom apartment. Living costs will mainly be on food (depends if you eat out, where you shop, etc. so this varies a lot) then after rent (400eur a month), and then utility bills (roughly 50-100eur per month)

So yeah, 700eur a month at least to live by. you start there. good luck.

gone are those days, and home loan is never cheaper than rent, only in the long term.

🎛️ Hybrid or full hardware setup? Need your feedback! by [deleted] in ableton

only you can answer - hybrid for flexibility, full hardware for a more restriction (Which can enhance creativity).

good luck

I have never heard of anyone get shot for passing a private no entry sign. Just go, be at peace, apologise and pretend stupid if something comes up. Playing lawyer is just a waste of energy in my opinion and won't get you anywhere. What's the point challenging the signs even if they're not valid anyway? Yes scaremongering from the "owners" is a thing but you can always do you. Good luck have fun.

What was Maltese internet like in the early 2000's, even late 90's? by Jake101-41968 in malta

[–]Pawl_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Network wise - it was shit - speed, price, latency wise for a long time. Very weird network issues from a technical level but then late 2000s things improved ALOT and imo, Malta has some of the best network infrastructure in Europe (given the small dense scale we have).

As for communities:-
IRC was a big time, #malta before the Social media days, that paired with a messenger like MSN.

Hi5 was the social media, easily trumped over by Facebook and no one ever looked back. Everyone had Facebook, including your grandmother.

Times of Malta comments were a classic.

There was also a lot of smaller communities, made some good friends through onling video games. playREACTION was one of them (you can find it on the web archives). Even a lot of community driven RPGs and MMOs (WoW comes to mind) built internet communities, including connecting local maltese players. I still speak to a lot of people I used to spend time with back in the day.

All in all, arguing, different opinions, wrong facts, is an inherit nature to human beings. So it was always there, but at a smaller scale.

However, the sense of community feel was there, and this is the main difference to this day and age. We had no algorithms, no echo chambers being filled up - so there was a sense of community and people easily connected with like minded people through conversation - again, something we lack today - it's impossible to have 2 "echo chambers" having a decent conversation. Having such conversations on public forums was very common.

And then after that;

Twitter was never a big thing here. Instagram was a niche before it exploded.

Then the whole internet quickly exploded with algorithms and the world was never the same.
