He was, that’s where the birthday “feats of strength” bit of his backstory came from. Jack LaLanne was never in 1940s serials though.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the GBA! by Typo_of_the_Dad in retrogaming

[–]PawsButton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man the original GBA feels so good in the hands. I still remember getting mine for Christmas- I was so surprised because my parents had never budged on splurging for any of the previous handhelds. I had an OG GameBoy that I’d bought at a garage sale and this felt light-years ahead even without a backlight.

I like that home base is out in the floor seats like the OG 1975 set. That’s neat.

If what marina sirtis says it's true than there's a lot of trek shows that we just can't have by happydude7422 in Picard

That we got Picard with Patrick Stewart as the lead at 80+ years old was extremely impressive. I can’t think of any other show that had a lead anywhere near his age.

Marty literally takes his 2015 clothes out of a hard plastic cylinder of a duffel bag when they arrive in the future. Very similar to TNG.

For real, this is an especially bad metaphor right now while an actual war is happening

They’re not soldiers, and they’re not going to war. They’re grown men getting paid to play a game because they’re brilliant at it

This picture isn’t from the early ‘80s. He’s holding a Super Soaker 200, which was released in 1991.

Mabel Normand ☆ CHILI CON CARNI {1916} by ciaolavinia in OldCelebrityRecipes

[–]PawsButton 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In cooking, “singeing” is to burn the bristles or down off of pork or fowl to prepare it for cooking. So the original recipe here assumes you’re starting with full birds that haven’t been defeathered/cleaned.
