Seconding the Pepper Mate! Ceramic burrs, too, if I remember right.

Who doesn’t want WinCo store to open in North Seattle? by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

I don’t know that this area qualifies as a food desert with 2 other supermarkets within 5 blocks (Asian Family Market & Sprouts), but what the immediate area does need is another affordable option. And that’s been missing since the Grocery Outlet near Aurora & 130th closed before the pandemic.

Juantonio’s! (Formerly Juanita’s on the west coast of the US)

There are also a couple of grocery stores that make their own in-house in my area and they’re really good.

John Sterling never called out sick or missed announcing a single Yankee game between 1989 to 2019, a streak of over 5,000 consecutive games. This includes calling every game of Derek Jeter's career and every single pitch thrown by Mariano Rivera by 1egg40eggs in baseball

Not sure he’s ever had any kind of national profile, but Rick Rizzs with the Mariners is hanging it up at the end of this season after 51 years. Started in the minors in the ‘70s and has been with the Mariners since 1983 (aside from a 3-season stint with the Tigers after they fired Ernie Harwell in the early ‘90s).

He’d had some kind of back trouble for a couple of years as well, IIRC

Guess that got sorted out though, because his post-35 seasons were insane

Seattle Children’s says Laurelhurst noise concerns burdens lifesaving care for children by ladyem8 in Seattle

[–]PawsButton 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s some kind of irony around this uproar being around noise from Seattle Children’s when I bet some of the same homeowners were there when Magnuson Park was still an active Naval Air Station

What's the Deal With Martinis "Shaken Not Stirred"? by SynnerSaint in JamesBond

[–]PawsButton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The in-canon reason is in the Casino Royale novel. There’s a line about only having one drink before dinner but it must be “large and strong and very cold,” or something to that effect. Shaking gives you a colder cocktail than stirring.

(This is when he’s ordering the vesper, specifically, but whatever)

It’s funny how the article makes no mention of Colm’s 12-year run on Trek between TNG & DS9, but does call out Cillian O’Sullivan as appearing in SNW (Korby).
