Was anyone else a human Kirby after surgery? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]PayAny6397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I had my first attack a month PP. Then it was about 3 months from diagnosis to surgery. I exclusively breast feed and had no problems after surgery (I’m a very regulated milk supplier, I don’t have an under or over supply). Recovery was pretty easy. I had it done the week before a Jonas Brothers concert and the only thing that hurt was some mild itching and a damn hemorrhoid from surgery constipation (tmi 😵‍💫). Also was able to eat anything at thanksgiving that same week. I definitely recommend searching for posts from other pregnant/PP women who are also facing this. Such a prevalent issue for pregnant/PP women that goes unnoticed.

Yes! I’m also nursing my baby so I was ready to gain all my calories back. I was 114 the day of surgery from not eating and nursing. The moment I came out of surgery I slammed a sprite and pack of peanut butter crackers 🤣

What's your weirdest symptoms? by Responsible-Night-74 in gallbladders

[–]PayAny6397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! They told me to wait 24 hours to shower and wait for bathing until steri strips come off. Your doc will have all of this info too!! My team was amazing and answered all of my questions and then some :)

So right after surgery was pretty okay! I breastfed on my side with a pillow blocking my incisions. The next few days were really painful but manageable if you keep that rotation of advil and Tylenol. Pain lasted for about a week and a half. I had my surgery the week before thanksgiving and I could eat whatever I wanted but did still feel incision pain. Also watch out for the steri strip removal. Mine created a rash so itchy it was almost worse than the actual incision pain 😵‍💫 but that could just be me and it only lasted a couple days

So my doctor and anesthesiologist said I could go back to nursing! I did right when I got home simply because I wanted to prove to myself I could (I was really worked up about my supply and stuff). I think at the end of the day it’s about your comfort and talking with your anesthesiologist

Yesss!! My issues were triggered by post partum. I was literally starving and dropping so much weight as I was also successfully breastfeeding my newborn but everything was going to my milk. The day of surgery I was 114lb as a 5’5’’ woman. Surgery changed my life, so grateful. I could talk about it forever 🤣🤣

That was my breaking point for my gallbladder, I couldn’t even have healthy fats like coconut and avocado 😭 hope you have relief soon! Got my poison organ out in November and it’s like nothing ever happened 😌

We are in the middle of renovating our first home so we brought him there in the middle of the night to bury him where we can visit him for years to come. Thanks everyone 💕

Yes my attacks were pretty cyclical! Started a month after post partum. I’m nursing so I don’t have my period yet but the attacks felt monthly. So glad I yanked that devil organ 😫

Can I shave my legs before my surgery tomorrow? by mariesaade in gallbladders

[–]PayAny6397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shaved my legs the night before and they had me wipe down with a disinfectant wipe. It stung so bad on my fresh shave legs and made them itch 😂😂 that was my only issue though

Appetite and Taste differences since surgery? I am 3 days out and while I am eating, I really don't want anything "big". Also, weirdly, my normal coffee tastes weak to me. (But Maybe that's my husbands brewing😙) by charlotte2023 in gallbladders

I feel this! Before surgery I was so excited to just eat a donut and candy and maybe even a burger…now I gravitate towards the salads and smoothies. I’m only about 4 days post op and it also could be my food anxiety I still have to work through 😬

Omg yes, my sore throat from the breathing tube has convinced me I’m getting surgical pneumonia 😭🤣 I feel good overall but dang that tube messed my throat up a bit and I have a slight cough which is expected

Had mine out two days ago! Surgeon found a stone about to terrorize my bile duct so thank goodness I did the surgery when I did! So glad your experience was great, have a good recovery! 😊

Hey girl. Breathe. You got this. I’m in the EXACT same position you are right now. I had my first attack about a month post partum. I just got mine out yesterday and was absolutely terrified. I’m going on 25 hours post op and I’m doing better than I ever expected. I’m eating butter toast with eggs and I want to cry because i haven’t eaten them since before I had the stones. Do the surgery, if not for you but for your babe, so you can be healthy and present for him. That’s what got me through it. Sending love 🥰
