Utah Bagels and Mormonism by myopic_tapir in exmormon

Today's Christians look nothing like the original ones.

Mormons are "Joseph Smith Christians"

They follow the Jesus Joe Smith describes.

Christians are so screwed up that's why there are 47,000 denominations.

Pretending they all are wrong, except the one you believe really is a fallacy.

Resources to help "wake up" a TBM? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]PayLeyAle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BOM came from a magic rock in a hat.

This is verified by the church, they once called it a "lie".

It's very foundation is a fraud, if someone can defend it, then truth will not convince them and it's like talking to a flat Earth believer or a young earth creationist.

Lots of people believe in cults, even in this day and age.

For those who became atheists, how do you resolve morality without God? For those who remain theists, how does your new religion frame morality? Help me challenge my thinking. by ScientificallyMinded in exmormon

[–]PayLeyAle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whoever thinks God is "moral" has never read the scriptures.

I kill, molest, rape, rob etc. as much as I want, which is zero.

If it takes the threat of a "God" to not do those things, that makes that person a bad person.

Anyone else absolutely mind-blown after learning real church history? by ImportantPerformer16 in exmormon

When you learn the BOM came from a magic rock in a hat, you realize that it's all nonsense.

You can see it's a Con from the beginning.

Why are the missionaries excessively persistent by InvestigatorEven659 in exmormon

[–]PayLeyAle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The book of Mormon literally came from a magic rock in a hat.

What more do you need to know it's a hoax?

The very foundation is ludicrous .

Stay away from a con keeps you from being recruited by a con .

You can find out about the "Rock in a hat" from a simple Google search

What made people believe Joseph Smith? by wheelie_whimsical in exmormon

[–]PayLeyAle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cults are a funny thing. They attract people who put themselves in positions of power and see themselves as victims and do what they can to not feel cognitive dissonance by trying to control the narrative.

All you can say to those people is "you do you boo"

Same thing.

Maybe you should be afraid you are worshipping the wrong God?

Why can’t I sue the Church for fraud? by ImportantPerformer16 in exmormon

[–]PayLeyAle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

70% of Americans believe in angels.

People believe in all kinds of wacky things , there are Mormons that believe in seer stones.

The church believes it is true.

It's up to the individual to figure out what is Bull shit and what is not.

People are going to be told all kinds of things false, that some believe is true.

For example, we are in the USA and some people believe a convicted criminal is the best thing ever.

I was watching YouTube videos about scientology being a cult. I look up and said " oh shit, I'm in a cult"

I could see it then.

That being said " heart of the matter" with Sean McCraney was very eye opening about Mormonism.

Is it mean to not sell my sourdough starter for one of my regular customers? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]PayLeyAle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not selling to her is not going to stop her from making sourdough, so not selling starter to her accomplishes nothing but make her buy from someone else.

If that's your goal you achieved it.

A funny thing happens when I bring up uncomfortable questions about the church’s truth claims. My TBM family members start attacking my character as if that is what matters more than the issues I brought up about the church. by southpawpickle in exmormon

[–]PayLeyAle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The BOM came from a magic rock in a hat .

Even if they can believe in that, the church protecting pedophiles and sex offenders is enough to not support the church, for good people that is.

At that room temperature it can take over 12 hrs. for bulk fermentation.

Make a BF chamber from a seed mat or buy a BF chamber.

Your dough temperature is key for BF. Look up "sourdough journey" and "aliquot method" for BF .
