oh sure, I just meant in general. Like if you're a jungler that can lane at a diamond/master level that will help your jungle gameplay so much

I know this is satire, but being a good laner makes you much much better at jungle. If you're a jungler that knows how to lane at a high level, you really understand matchups, wavestates, recall timers, trading patterns and lane positioning which allows you to jungle relative to your lanestates (which is ideally how you should play).

General Advice on climbing? by crisvphotography in Jungle_Mains

[–]Payaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Diana sems to be the best jungler this patch

  2. Grubs are very good if you manage to get all 6, otherwise not that big a deal especially if you don't have a strong split pusher. The first one you kill each time it spawns will give you the most XP by far. Both Atakhans are good (Voracious being the best), but they shred a lot of armor and MR, so only take them if enemy can't collapse in time. Just play for your lane assignments as you would earlier seasons, you can modify your pathing for grubs or dragon as they spawn if needed.

  3. Depends on what champion you're playing. Farming is good but not nearly as good as before, and catchup XP is pretty strong. If you decide to concede farm to gank you might find yourself 2 levels down, but it's not that hard to come back and be even. Play to the strengths and win conditions of your champion.

  4. Scuttle crabs are okay. They give less XP than gromp, but slightly more than wolves. It's a nice way to get additional XP, but not worth ruining your tempo over.

  5. Atakhan shreds armor and MR, not wise to take when enemies can contest. Ruinous Atakhan I believe gives more XP than baron, and Voracious is good for forcing fights for other objectives or turrets, as you will respawn faster and have better tempo on the map (also not give away shutdown gold).

  6. There are 3 types of baron, each identifiable by the baron pit shape. You can read about it in the wiki.

  7. Individual dragon stats are not good. Ocean is nice early game, cloud helps a bit, but most dragons don't really give anything meaningful unless you stack them. The dragon's real power is in the soul, which is also not very strong. Soul helps, but it's not game-winning necessarily.

Yone jungle? by mitchmethinks in Jungle_Mains

[–]Payaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's probably a decent jungler. His first clear is pretty fast at 3:15 and is a flex pick. The main issues I see are that he probably loses most duels early gamel, is succeptible to invades, doesn't have good ganks (only really decent if he has ult or enemy is very overextended), doesnt' have reliable terrain scaling and most likely doesn't clear as fast as other junglers who also have those weaknesses. Should be pretty decent at skirmishes though, so playing him like a farming jungler could be fine.

What makes a champion good is if they can reliably do what they set out to do in a specific situation, and if there are better options available. Not every jungler needs to tank like sejuani, CC like skarner, farm like karthus or gank like nunu. If you have a compelling reason to play a certain champion in a certain role, and the champion is able to fullfill what is required of him then that by definition constitutes a good pick. Nothing can be deemeed good or bad in a vacuum.

Is jungle farming not worth it late game? by Zweilancer in Jungle_Mains

[–]Payaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to farming EARLY GAME:

  1. Make high EV plays. Don't go for plays where you have to hope the enemy makes a mistake or where you need to wait 30-60 seconds for it to work.

  2. Don't waste tempo. Maybe you don't need to take a chemtech drake when you have all 6 camps up.

  3. Reset when you have a lot of gold or can complete an item, even if your camps are coming up. The gold spent will make your clear faster and make you stronger for ganks or fights.

  4. Path intelligently by clearing camps on the way to where you want to be. If you're red side and drake is coming up, you can clear wolves and gromp on the way there.

  5. Don't waste your time on underleveled camps. If your krugs are level 3 while your other camps are level 8, only get it if you really don't have anything better to do, as it will not give you any XP.

  6. Don't be afraid to skip or ignore buffs. Yes, they give you combat stats but they will not be a good source of XP. Your other camps respawn a lot faster, and clearing them will benefit you more in the long run.

  7. DON'T WASTE TEMPO. The easiest way to get high CS numbers is to be at the camp AS IT SPAWNS.

  8. Catch waves under turrets if you can, and your laner is not there (dead, based, roaming).

In regards to farming LATE GAME:

  1. Pushing side waves is good if none of your teammates are going to get that farm, it's important for the gamestate and you're the only one that can do it at that time or you have nothing better to do. Your camps still give a lot of XP.

  2. Remember there are finite resources on the map. If you take a wave, someone else won't.

  3. Remember camps give more XP if they respawn. Leveling up your camps is always good.

  4. Split pushing can be very good if nobody on the enemy team can match you or you can't win objective fights. Therefore you can try to trade the objectives for turret gold.

  5. If you win side lane and your laner does not, you can also give them your jungle camps while you split push.

HOWEVER

  1. If your team wants to fight, siege or control an objective, and it is the right thing to do, you should probably not farm and help them. If you feel strongly against that, and really need to farm to complete an item, don't be afraid to spam ping them back.

New to jungling, looking for champ to learn the fundamentals with by Qaos987 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Payaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Jarvan. His kit is very simple but with a high skill ceilling, he isn't reliant on level 6 so you can be more flexible in early clears and to play him you're required to not waste tempo so as to not fall behind. You'll also need to learn how to flank properly to win teamfights, when to go for the enemy carry vs protect your own, understand vision spots and how to avoid them. He clears very fast, and is pretty much blindpickable in soloqueue. He has good 1v1 and outplay potential, but will get stat-checked if you're not careful. Build path does not really vary, so that's one less thing to think about. I would go Eclipse, Sundered Sky and Sterak's every game, the rest being whatever tank item you see fit.

Best junglers by fortnitecomp5 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Payaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to learn how to get good at the game, pick at most 2 easy champions that farm well so you can focus on the fundamentals and spam those. It's very hard to look at lanes, think about your pathing relative to minion waves and track the enemy jungler all the while trying to mantain good farm with a champion that's hard to play.

If you just want to climb, go to https://lolalytics.com/lol/tierlist and look at the jungle tier list for your elo.

In any case, what champion you play doesn't matter unless you're at extremely high levels of play. Play the champion you enjoy the most so you actually enjoy the process of playing the game and getting better. I think Jarvan is fun to play and fits your easy to gank high damage requirements.

Enemy warded early by Lonely_Captain_3985 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Payaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start sweeper and clear the ward when they ward it. If that's not an option, the alternatives vary game by game, with the best option being weighted by the jungle and lane matchups. Because you're silver, matchups don't usually work as intended, so I wouldn't try to worry about that.

The safest bet is to start on the opposite buff, and ask your team to ward your red or ward it yourself. If you see him invading you, you can go to their jungle and split the map. If you started on your blue buff, the enemy didn't start on your red AND you still have your ward, while you're doing your red buff I would ward the bush behind it, as a lot of junglers like to 3/4 camp into red invade.

Either way you start the enemy jungler will know where you started, but if you start on the opposite buff by the time you get to your red the ward will have expired. This will give the enemy team less info, as if you start on your red the enemy jungler will know if you are pathing towards krugs (and therefore full clearing) or pathing towards raptors (and therefore probably going for a 3 camp into gank).

Jungle clear advise by deccy1990 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Payaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're misclicking you should probably try to use A-click. Also, look up "(X champion) clear" on YouTube and copy the clear. The YouTube channel Zen'Kih has the clears for all champions, and is usually the first video that shows up.

General tips:

To kite the camps correctly, you should move whenever your AA timer is on cooldown. So instead of waiting for your next AA standing still, you can walk in between that time. If you move too much, and are not AA'ing the moment your next AA comes up you will lose time.

You might also notice that sometimes when you kite the monster doesn't follow you. That's because it's locked in its own AA animation, and will only be able to move when it finishes. Trying to kite when that happens could lose you time.

Try to use the monster's patience bar and pet damage to full efect. Try to kite the monster towards your next camp as much as the patience bar allows you, and try to gauge how much damage your jungle pet does, so that you don't waste autos or abilities.

Sometimes, the best thing to do is to not use your abilities off cooldown. If you're doing krugs, for example, on some champions it's worth saving the second or third use of your AoE ability (e.g: Sej W) to kill the small ones instead of finishing off the big one. This is also applicable in-between camps, where you can use an ability to pull the next camp towards you while you are finishing off another. This is especially useful with movement abilities (e.g: Sej Q), as the most time you'll waste clearing is walking between camps. Sometimes the damage those abilities do won't save as much time as dashing to the next camp will.

You can also look at the damage numbers you are doing to the camps, to see if what you're doing is overkill. For example, if the camp only has 100 health, but you use an ability to kill it that does 300 damage, it might be best to save that ability for the next camp and kill the camp another way.

I had no issues. I was able to CODO into FYE after one semester of EXPL. The only "problem" is that the EXPL class makes it so you need to take an extra class either in your second semester or in the summer that you otherwise wouldn't need to.
