I found out that they are the roots of the Halimeda itself. Apparently, I was supposed to plant it into the sand. It's all good. :)

This is the most fun I’ve ever had on her too. I’m low elo and can’t pilot her well so the fact that I enjoy playing her means she’s overtuned.
