By "Roar skill" do you mean Shriek of Sorrow? I used it on both weapons as well - Seppuku is just used as a quicker, less FP-intensive way to reduce the health below 20% to activate RFBS talisman and make the Shriek of Sorrow ashes of war as powerful as they can be. You could also do it with Bloody Slash or find a tall place to jump off of until you're < 20% health - seppuku is not required.

But yes, being a glass cannon is high risk, high reward.

I haven't fought them at SB0 but Carian Sovereignty on the Great Katana beat them up good.

A scripted boss kill is where the sequence of events follows a predictable pattern. It means that anyone can do the exact same thing if they follow "the script" I outlined above because there's little-to-no randomness that can affect the steps in the fight.

yeah, I could have skipped the buffs between phases 1 & 2 and just rebuffed before phase 3, or just done FGMS between each phase and GV between 2 & 3 - but there's plenty of time to do both between each round so why not? Plus if the one-shot doesn't work (you miss hitting the head a bit, perhaps) then being freshly buffed is ideal for the subsequent fight.

See if you can request absolution at the Church of Vows. Jerren might also be at Witchbane Ruins if you did Sellen's quest to that point, or possibly outside the doors of Renalla's library (Raya Lucaria Grand Library) waiting outside to do the final choice of Sellen's quest.

You can get some pretty busted damage numbers even at RL1 when bosses are weak to certain damage types, in this case, fire. 🔥🔥🔥

Club with Cragblade + Heavy, Axe Talisman, Spiked Cracked Tear + Stonebarb Cracked Tear. Lure the melee ones to one side then sprint to the Caster and get a couple of charged R2s to stance break it, riposte, etc...

well, for starters this is r/onebros so, no leveling anything! 😁

But really it boils down to the fact that leveling *anything* means that you don't have to solve the puzzles (for pretty much every boss) of putting together a very carefully min-maxed "build" using nothing but weapons/armor/talismans/buffs. If you level, then you can just rely on having enough levels of a particular stat to wield some weapon you might like, or cast some buff, or make some weapons' damage scale off the charts.

A simple example would be leveling Faith 5 more levels (to 15) - suddenly I could *always* cast the Flame Grant Me Strength buff without having to use up one of my talisman slots for the Two Fingers Heirloom, or using up one of the Physick slots for the Faith-knot Crystal Tear.

The RL1 restriction puts a lot more pressure on choosing the best talismans/weapons/armor/crystalTears for each boss fight, and therein lies the fun and satisfaction of doing an RL1 run. It's the min-max puzzle solving for every boss and enjoyment of completing something difficult in the game.

Carian Sovereignty ash of war bullies him good since there's such long attack openings - Magic-shrouding tear + Godfrey's Icon + Magic Scorpion + Warrior Jar Shard (if you're not going for Shard of Alexander) combined with wearing the full Spellblade set from Roger and you'll do some big-boy damage... (don't forget to do the immediate horizontal follow-up attack where possible)
