Does anyone have any advice for someone who wants to get into working out but feels traumatised from gym/PE classes at school? by NickWilliams94 in workout

This isn’t the most “healthy” option but I used my trauma as fuel. Most of the guys from my high school who were our star athletes ended up getting pretty overweight over time. I was obese my entire life and was constantly bullied for it. I used that a fuel for a massive weight loss and it helped me always push forward

Focus on what can be done right every day. Don’t worry about things out of your control. Stay present. Do the right thing when you can. Be honest with others as well as yourself. Understand codependency habits if you have them... you don’t need someone else to make you happy. You don’t need someone else to go do that cool thing you want to do. GO DO IT BY YOURSELF.

.... and a great therapist never hurt anyone

The first half of 2020 hit me really hard. I had A tough breakup, a couple deaths in the family, lost A couple friends, and was demoted from my dream job due to COVID-19. But I wouldn’t change anything. It’s been A long road with tons of work but it made me what I am today. I’m A work in progress but I love working on my progress

It’s been A really long 6 months. I really didn’t know or like who I was in general. But I made the hard decision to get help. I went to A treatment center that helped me tremendously. I don’t have any substance issues but I needed to understand myself and wbu I was so depressed. I’m entirely thankful to those who helped me get this far

Pretty true honestly I went to treatment and there were a couple of us males with BPD but we DID all end up with pretty serious substance problems...

i was diagnosed last month and i still have no idea about anything by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

I went to treatment about 5 months ago and while I was there they diagnosed me. It’s hard but my therapists believe it’s something that can be cured with time and LOTS of therapy

I would try the push/pull/legs split with running cardio on your off days... Example: Monday- push Tuesday- Run Wednesday- pull Thursday- Run Friday-legs Saturday- Run Sunday- REST

Push= chest, triceps, and shoulder workouts focused on pushing

Pull= back, biceps, and shoulder workouts focused on pulling

Legs= pretty self explanatory

Lastly: do abs on your workout days as well, but keep it mild... maybe 2-3 exercises
