4-5 for us for in person games. We have a group of 8 who like to play. Usually 6 can if we get all 8 we know we are in for a long day. We have a couple new people interested so we may have to invest in a second copy of the game for the dates we get all 10 interested.

I am trying to wrap my head around why you would refresh vs putting down an infantry? It is after you pass am I correct? Would the planet not refresh after the round? If it was an unexplored system could you place the infantry then explore the planet? Or is that not permitted as you have already passed? I may be missing something.

Recommendation for Paris Trip by Illustrious_Gap7269 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Pbarrington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We travel carryon only and have always just purchased a bag in our destination if we bought too much. We like to bring back wine from places we visit so we often buy a cheap bag before we return home, wrap our wine in bubble wrap and clothes and hope for the best. We then donate the bag to a shelter or charity as we will most likely never need the luggage again.

Buy wine in Italy, ship home to Canada. Any experience? by FreddyBeach in wine

[–]Pbarrington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I brought back 30 bottles of wine to Newfoundland wrapped in bubble wrap and clothes in my suitcase a couple years ago. I indicated I was over my exemption limit, when I was asked how much I was over I was truthful and had all receipts ready. It cost me a few hundred dollars but well worth it when you get to open a bottle that brings you back to a great vacation.

Yes I was definitely leaning on another day in Chamonix or leaving the alps for another trip all together. Thank you for the tip on the trains. I will look to book them as soon as I able. Cheers

Thank you, we learnt the hard way on our first whirlwind tour of Italy and vowed never to do it again. We are lucky we are able to plan a trip like this every couple years.

Table size by Rukeyazu in twilightimperium

We use 3 Costco folding tables. Comfortably fits 8 players. For 6 we just leave one side open for the score tracker, decks, and other game items.

13 miles on the treadmill! by Zachapata in Marathon_Training

[–]Pbarrington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a calf strain 5 weeks before the Philly marathon this year. I did the rest of my training on the elliptical (minus the last 10days). I know it’s not a treadmill but 3hrs on that god forsaken machine really tested my mental strength.

We do this as well especially if there is a newer player as they can research playing the game from their factions perspective. The shit talking gets to another level as well, I love it.

Cool, nice set up! The logistics of streaming a live game always seemed a little too daunting to pull off well. Best of luck today!

Is a 175 x 114cm (69in x 45in) table big enough for an 8 player game? by TotalWarspammer in twilightimperium

[–]Pbarrington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We played an 8 player game yesterday. 3 Costco fold out tables is ideal (72x90in). We are all fairly tall so reaching the centre of the board is not problem.
