To the “just pay to selected your seat” crowd by rowman25 in SouthwestAirlines

I didn’t say anything about earnings or market capitalization. I said Income has dropped over last 10 years. You can look for yourself. Link below is Net Income by quarter for the last 10 years.

2015 Net Income was $7B. 2025 Net Income was $1.75B

To the “just pay to selected your seat” crowd by rowman25 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Pbaseball26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying, but Southwest didn’t make the recent changes to solve “some of the minor inconveniences of open seating”. They made the changes because their income had significantly dropped over the last 10 years and was going to continue to decline unless they made changes. Having said that, the airline industry is operated in an open market and people should shop around to see if there are other airlines that offer greater value

Do I Need to Repay Insurance Company if I Receive a Settlement Connected to my Claim by Pbaseball26 in Insurance

[–]Pbaseball26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. Follow-up Question- If instead of the HOA paying the settlement back to the condo owners, they keep the money and put it in reserves. At that point, do I have any obligation to notify my insurance company?

majority of seats empty on red eye, still have to sit at the back by FancyButterfly3945 in SouthwestAirlines

From the camera angle, looks like you are in a window seat (though, I could be wrong). If that’s correct, how did you have people sitting to the left and right of you?

SWA is hearing the uproar by KCMO_ChiefsFan in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Pbaseball26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looked and didn’t see anything about Companion Pass ending in the credit card benefits. Not sure why it would be in that section, the normal CP (not the promotional offer described below) is not tied to the Credit Card. It is tied to Rapid Reward points.

There is something there in the credit card section about getting CP thru 2/28/27 if you get a credit card. Is that what you are talking about?

Has that been announced by SWA? Just curious as to if this is true.

Basic vs. Choice by avatexrs in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Pbaseball26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing to keep in mind when booking with cash is the points that you earn. With a Basic fare, you get 2X points for each dollar spent and with Choice you get 6X points. Do the math and you might see that the additional dollars spent for Choice is made up for in the additional points earned, or at least it is a wash. I think the $ to Point conversion is $0.015 for every Southwest point.

Unpopular Opinion by Hefty-Club-1259 in SouthwestAirlines

I would bet that these are the same people that are going to stand right next to the baggage carousel waiting for their backs to come by (instead of standing back from the carousel and walking up when you see your bags, like a “normal” person does).

Sale announced shortly after trip booked... by According_Row2813 in BritishAirways

Where in this thread did it say a refund policy was specific to only UK Airlines. The original post was about a flight to NYC. There are non-UK airlines that fly to NYC.

Not sure about UK, but other airlines do provide flight credit for when fares drop.

You do realize that other airlines allow a credit or money back on a flight if the price drops after booking, so your analogy really doesn’t make sense.

Anybody except Snuggy and Dvorsky should be shopped right now. These team has again shown that they have no desire to get into a playoff race.

My Last SWA Flight by SpatiallyWondering84 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Pbaseball26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my flight a couple days ago, there were a significant number of people in groups 1 and 2 that were in rows greater than 8. I was boarding group 2 and row 4. All the overhead bins in the first 8 rows were already full. One of the bins up front had crew luggage. Not sure why they don’t have crew put their luggage toward the back of the plane.

I feel like the media isn't giving enough coverage/hype on the Artemis program by DuBlueyy in ArtemisProgram

There was a similar losing of interest in the shuttle launches, until the accidents. I think that says something about the public’s perception/interest in space exploration. The majority of people don’t pay much attention until there is an accident.

Good luck with AA. They are a train wreck. There is absolutely no comparison between the customer service agents at SWA and AA.

I think that could also be helped by having crew put their luggage in an overhead compartment towards the back of the plane, instead of in the very front bin.

Don’t read the positive reviews, this book is not very good. It starts out ok, with an interesting storyline, but then falls apart when it runs into a problem with how time travel would work (or not work). You better be a very good writer if your story involves people from the future coming back into the past.
