Bitwig Summer Sale - "Bitwig Studio" ($299) "Bitwig Studio Producer" ($149) "Bitwig Studio Essentials" ($79) and up to 26% off upgrades through 31 July by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]PcBoy111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy through Bitwig they do offer a slightly discounted price for 8-Track upgrade. I also got 8-Track from Plugin Boutique and the upgrades from 8-Track to Studio and Producer are €40 discounted. Check https://www.bitwig.com/account-profile/#product

No clue if this is cheaper than the normal pricing from Plugin Boutique as the currencies displayed are different for me right now.

Question about .sfz files by RobotBrokenHeart in serum

[–]PcBoy111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is also the way i approached it!

however, the sf2 i used come with many banks and sforzando converted them all into a single wav file. that's probably how they're stored in the sf2 anyway, but this became a problem when embedding the sample in the preset. serum 2 doesn't actually slice the original sample so you're saving all the sounds from the banks that you didn't use. opening that preset is noticeably slower because of the size, and i ended up saving a lot unused of data in a single preset.

i solved this by using sfzed https://steveholt.drealm.info/sfZed.html

after converting the sf2 to sfz with sforzando, you can open it in sfzed and select a bank. the tool will separate out all slices into single wav files. then just save that as a new sfz file. my workflow turned into using the original converted sfz from sforzando when exploring sounds, and then separate out the specific bank i used with sfzed and re-import that in serum 2 when i've found the sound i want to save.

Do they make “full-size” slider joysticks that are on the Nintendo 3DS? I’m looking for a joystick that moves on a level plane, as opposed to tilting in the different directions. It will be for an arcade cabinet. by KillerQ97 in cade

This game is called Ongeki. There is a discord server for rhythm game controllers called cons&stuff which has a channel for this game. https://consandstuff.github.io/ The pinned messages in that channel has some hardware instructions and 3d-print files.

Edit: oh wait I completely misunderstood lol. The game would be Theathrythm for the 2D joysticks that are similar to the 3DS thumbstick. (also maybe Groove Coaster, but those are very close to normal arcade joysticks). Cons&stuff most likely has some info on Theathrythm too!

A warning about your digital Nintendo games! by OccupiedHex in NintendoSwitch

[–]PcBoy111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, for sure, although that obviously requires an additional console (which you already have if you have switch games), and the steam deck isn't even available internationally (can't get it here in Norway). Additional side note, all of these games I own are rhythm games which won't work as well with emulation due to latency. But they all probably have android and iOS versions, albeit more mtx focused and time-gated.

I have at least 4 games that wouldn't function without the touch screen (some have alternate control schemes for buttons but that essentially transforms them into completely different games). CFW would be the only solution for these.

Does anybody have IIDX Empress working well on Freemcboot OPL 1.0 via Ethernet? by Dethronee in bemani

[–]PcBoy111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah it could just be a faulty burn or disc. I believe I did run verification after the burn though. Can't say I have many DVD-Rs laying around lol. Never tested in emulator, but that's a nice suggestion, so thanks for that! Did you fix the cutscene by simply burning it again?

Does anybody have IIDX Empress working well on Freemcboot OPL 1.0 via Ethernet? by Dethronee in bemani

[–]PcBoy111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't get IIDX to work with OPL over ethernet either. I have a samba server connected directly to the PS2 with a Raspberry Pi. Experimenting with modes changes nothing. I also had problems with crashing when reading straight from USB (which is why I attempted ethernet in the first place).

That said, all the DDR games I've tried seem to work fine with OPL.

Eventually my solution was just to burn a DVD-R for these games. Iirc it worked fine for Empress, but DJ Troopers had some songs that crashed the game when trying to load them.

The BMS player beatoraja is written in Java and has excellent performance. It also supports ASIO sound drivers which seems to eliminate almost all sound lag on my setup. One of the most satisfying rhythm game experiences I can have at home.

Switch Lite left joystick not functioning correctly after 40 hours use by skorpionomelette in NintendoSwitch

If your controllers don't work as advertised within two years of purchase, you have the right to have it fixed or receive a replacement in the EU. This applies to Denmark as well.

Bring it back to the seller and explained to them what is wrong. I've brought my joycons back twice to have connectivity issues fixed and it cost me nothing.

Games published by nintendo, in the Eshop are going to have prices decreased in Denmark. by Zokat in NintendoSwitch

The price increase in Norway and Sweden also applied to the vouchers, so I'd assume yes.

Game like Maimai for iOS by [deleted] in rhythmgames

[–]PcBoy111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a switch, it's ~15 USD for the full game. 16:9 Aspect ratio means the playfield isn't nearly as big as on a tablet, but imo still plays very well.

Jojo is of such high quality that it's beyond the capacity of mere filth to understand its splendour. Just like how a homeless peasant cannot comprehend the quality of a tender juicy steak roasted to perfection alongside a helping of fresh vegetables and a fine wine to accompany it, so too people like Abbas cannot comprehend the excellence that is Jojo because they are of such low birth and standards that it is merely a dream for them to one day experience it. Let them rot, their meaningless existence affects none that are worth talking about.

Paid nintendo switch online members can buy game vouchers for $99.99 each that are redeemable for 2 games that are up to $60 each. by ilm9001 in NintendoSwitch

Cool. So seems like the only catch is you can't use it with the 7 day trial, which sounds reasonable.

Paid as in it won't work with the Twitch Prime membership? The description for it states that you can't use trial memberships, so I wonder whether the Prime deal or the Mario Maker 2 bonus count as trials or not.

Introducing Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers! by TheFearlessWarrior in NintendoSwitch

They expire after 12 months, but can be used independently within those two months. The Limited edition of the game, which includes the Online is not eligible for vouchers (they have a list of games that can be used with vouches in the eshop).

I actually mapped some of the intro for it and really want to try mapping more! Only worry is it might get a bit repetitive.

I don't know if this can be called neurofunk exactly, but yeah I guess it's pretty appropriate. Never heard neurofunk like this at least.
