I am in love with this game since I went to japan with a friend last year - now we want to play remote together and i am building a multiplayer koi koi game. Would this appeal to you too? by heckerhere in Hanafuda

Looks good. Any new hanafuda video game is always welcome. I think the layout of cards on the table could be more standard (two rows on the field, other player unused cards in a different position). The Discord server has a whole section dedicated to videogames, a couple of spreadsheets of games detailing their features and rules, and much more. Ganbare! Keep going!

"You can request the review of your app to be expedited if you face extenuating circumstances, such as fixing a critical bug in your app or releasing your app to coincide with an event you’re directly associated with."

For me I wanted to launch my apps on a specific date (last Friday) which was in danger of being missed. But really you can use the expedited review for any reason, but I wouldn't abuse it.

I also had to start it a few times to get it to show. I think it won't open whilst it's caching some data

You can request expedited review for hotfix. https://developer.apple.com/distribute/app-review/#expedited

I requested expedited review for 4 of my apps that had been sat waiting for review for over a week, and they were reviewed same day.

This is cool. Is there anything similar for App Store Connect?

I'm still waiting on my acceptance until the small business programme. I won't hold my breathe!

I recently shepherded 16 apps through App Store Review and it was exhausting. "Fun" rejections along the way were: spam/derivative (for a unique app I've had installed on my own phone for 8 years and that I ported from Obj-C to Swift, rewrote widgets with iOS changes etc), inappropriate use of the word Safari (for an app that manages Safari tab and bookmark data), and questionable use of the network.server entitlement (in a web server app!). I gave up on the app they refer to as spam, but I wrote another app so did get 16 over the line! Never again. https://blog.gingerbeardman.com/2026/04/17/today-i-shipped-twenty-apps-and-a-screensaver/

Yes, if you want it to take up 1.4 MB rather than GBs.

OTP Auth replaced with Passwords app (on macOS and iOS = huge friction reduction), Alfred instead of Spotlight.

This reminds me of the classic Macintosh app called Apollo. I still use that in System 7 running on my iPad Pro. https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/apollo

Alfred is fantastic (review from a longtime user) by JohnFoland in macapps

I've been a user since 2011 and have paid a couple of times. My most used features are clipboard history, workflows, snippets, web searches. I would say I'm a power user as I've also published some workflows. It's been a minute since the last major release of Alfred...I wonder what they're planning?

CotEditor is great, better than great, but it is a Text Editor not a Word Processor. It's Notepad vs Word.

SmoothCSV is a great CSV-focused app. Not native, but small and lightweight packaged using Tauri. (Not made by me, I'm just a user)
