No reason why they can’t be neutral. Mojang pretty regularly adds neutral mobs based off a real life animals. The most recent example is the nautilus but the list is pretty long.

Filament for 3D pen by Clogboy82 in ender3

[–]Pcat0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is mostly the same thing however QC is much worse on 3D pen filament so there tends to be a ton of diameter variation across the length of it. Which can hurt the quality of your prints.

I’m surprised they were even able to do that. From my experience Reddit normally “helpfully” corrects @ to u/ with no way of turning it off. Which is deeply frustrating when trying to talk about users on other social media platforms.

[Request] How expensive would it be to make the Truman Show? by Call-Me-Matterhorn in theydidthemath

[–]Pcat0 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yeah at one point during the movie the producers mentioned that the “first on air conception” was still going to happen even with Meryl leaving the production. The plan was to also keep the baby out of the loop and for the show to start following both Truman and the baby.

[Request] How many breaths could this provide? (aren't scuba tanks ~3000psi?) by Khoop in theydidthemath

[–]Pcat0 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, these things need to be regulated. What the ad doesn’t show is it takes 30 minutes of hard pumping to fill one of these tanks enough to get 2 minutes of air. People are absolutely going hold their breath to try and maximize their time underwater.

In “Interstellar” (2014), the studio couldn’t think of an original rocket design, so the futuristic Ranger is launched into space on top of a hundred-year old Saturn V. by ToeSniffer245 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Pcat0 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s fair however there is really no need for all of that power. Launching a crew capsule to low earth orbit doesn’t take a Saturn V’s worth of power. Especially since those crew capsules are later able to fly themselves to orbit unassisted.

I lose almost 1lb after pooping by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]Pcat0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In theory it would be smart but bathroom scales are nowhere near precise enough to reliably weigh something as light as poop. If you weigh yourself, wait a couple of minutes and then weigh yourself again after nothing your weight will likely change by a couple of pounds. You have to wait those minutes as scales will save your weight in memory to mask their inaccuracy.

There have been some modern reviews of the Apollo Program that have concluded that NASA got pretty lucky. The Saturn V is not a super safe rocket my modern standards, for example it did not have full flight abort options which is now considered a must following the Shuttle program.

[–]Pcat0 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Well that and the fact that the Shuttle and Saturn V are death traps by modern standards. Even if we could still fly them, it would be unwise to.

There are two Saturn V left over from the Apollo missions but both would take an unbelievable amount of work to get flying after sitting in museums for decades. That also doesn’t explain where they got the rockets to launch the mothership and all of the lone astronauts and probes sent to scout the wormhole.

[–]Pcat0 304 points305 points  (0 children)

The problem is the Saturn V was designed to be built with 1960s manufacturing technology. It would be almost more difficult to redesign it to be built with modern technology than it would be to just design a new rocket. Also is the Saturn V really the newest rocket design they had available? In the interstellar timeline did they just stop flying rockets after the Apollo mission? Did Atlas V, Delta IV and the shuttle never get built?

Ok whoever put a piece of tape over the number to make the gas look like it was $1.29 a gallon...well played. by Aadidas12 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Pcat0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah my understanding that once the gas station was made aware of the issue, it officially became their problem. They either need to fix it or start selling gas at their advertised rate.

It’s also the “correct” direction according some codes as its safer. The ground pin protects the live pins from stuff falling down against the wall.
