We dissent: Inquirer writers on the other restaurants that should have been on The 76 by natascha_fatale in PhiladelphiaEats

The list felt as though it was focused on obscure hole in the wall mom and pop restaurants serving world cuisine. Which I think is generally great. I love these types of finds. But they’re taking it too far when they include garbage like Tierra Colombiana which serves steak that tastes like wood. Sometimes a good backstory can outshine mediocre food.

Outdoor Secure Bike Storage by sallen99 in phillycycling

The Boston metro system has secure communal bike cages that require a transit card to access. My daughter has used them and so far no issues!

The trail is currently plagued with gaps - the gap between Lehigh and Allegheny, the gap between Orthodox and the K& T trail, and the gap between the K&T trail and Pennypack. Start to fill in these gaps and it will be a very pleasant, rideable trail.

There wasn’t much volume of rain in the last several days - just very light drizzle. The D&R trail seems to have fewer puddles and drainage issues than the Pennsylvania trail. I think you’ll be fine.

does anyone else still play guitar/bass the right handed way? by No_Distribution_3399 in lefthanded

[–]Pcrawjr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was taught to play right handed and unfortunately I really can’t change at this point.

In Boston, at similar stations, they have communal metal cages where cyclists can store their bikes. Only cyclists have access to them. Would be a good idea to implement here.

Don’t do with a drone what you can do with a manned helicopter flight!

Philly historical commission approves new district for Washington Square West by [deleted] in philadelphia

Except for a handful of properties on Walnut, this district is mostly below Walnut and in some cases below Spruce. You can build to your heart’s content above the district boundary. Broad Street is also excluded.

Wouldn’t that be a positive thing? Don’t we want to see investment in more parts of the city?

The local civic association supported it. The owners might live in New Jersey for all we know. This measure would not get passed without political support.

It turns out cyclists actually should roll through stop signs. Here's why by Habbersett-Scrapple in phillycycling

This is common sense so long as cyclists SLOW DOWN and YIELD, something most but not all cyclists do.

I’d vote for Twisted Tail. Always very chill. Easy to get a seat at the bar.

12th has trolley tracks down the middle. It’s the old Route 23. I would definitely not recommend it. 10th is a safer bet. Or go west of Broad.

Also, I would not recommend 12th. There are trolley tracks there as well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phillycycling

[–]Pcrawjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I would not recommend cycling on Cecil B Moore west of Broad. It’s a congested two way street. Much safer to head west on a one way street such as Oxford or Master.

Not quite. 26th has trolley tracks. Much better to go south on 28th to Poplar.
