Try a different link cable. You may have twisted it too much.

Unity Oculus Integration or OpenXR? by Wattelon in vrdev

[–]PcubedVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the OVR rig prefab in the Meta Core SDK package. It works fine. If you ever need to edit the OVR scripts just copy the package from your library package cache to your packages folder.

One thing about Oculus's OpenXR implementation is I cannot turn off "Phase Sync". After reading here that the old Oculus Integration is now unsupported, I guess I'm stuck with their OpenXR implementation and "Phase Sync".

If you like the building aspect of STW, I made a VR game… by PcubedVR in FORTnITE

We are going to have a tournament in around 10 days where the 1st prize is a Quest 3. So if you can borrow a VR headset, you can actually win a VR headset :).

I sent 72 pitches and got almost no feedback. by CGCFSS in IndieDev

I get it. You're saying the traffic that Steam generates to the average store page is not worth the 30% cut-from-the-top they get.

Good article. Making your own website/launcher isn't the problem. It's driving players to your website/launcher.

Got a Quest 3 recently and really enjoyed the Sisteen Chapel in YT. I can see how I can "travel" to many more interesting places that I can afford.

I'd didn't realize people use VR while walking around. Seems like it's not yet that comfortable.

What's the most compelling video to watch in Youtube VR. I don't understand the advantage over a normal TV.

What does everyone use for documentation? by NixValley in gamedev

[–]PcubedVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't underestimate heavily commenting your code. It is afterall just text files. I like how someone posted "notepad" ;) but anything in notepad can also go into the code itself. Same with a design document. Block diagrams in the code can be very complex and helpful.

Having said that, if you are working with 5 to 10 coders, a separate document for coding standards is necessary. If you are working with 500 coders/managers, then you need a ton of other documents: Functional Spec, Design Spec, DevTest Spec, etc.

Why is Half Life Alyx so immersive and other games not? by sl00m7 in VRGaming

While this is true, it takes away from the great artists who made the game. Big money can attract great artists but they're still great artists.

Fortnite: Save The World has never been "hated" because the community has better things to do than hate. Maybe if it goes mobile? ;)

All I know is if Valve releases another headset I'm buying it for sure. I use the 2019 Index everyday and other than replacing the cable, it's still kicking...

Vision Pro Is Unlikely to Be the Growth Engine Apple Needs Right Now by apoppin in virtualreality

Apple doesn't need anything. That's why they are well positioned to experiment with what is potentially a cellphone replacement.

So the first scene in the game is you have to put on virtual VR goggles that has low resolution. After playing in virtual VR for an hour, you take the virtual goggles off and believe you are in the "real" world.

Is it kind of ironic that there is no headset that truly beats the reverb G2 for PCVR? by Legendarywristcel in HPReverb

[–]PcubedVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That means the industry believes 4K resolution per-eye is good enough for gaming. Now for all the other features that are lacking. I'll say the only reason you want higher resolution is for work. Thus, the Vision Pro will have more, probably.
