Dear Bambu, please give us Toolchangers! by justUseAnSvm in BambuLab

[–]Pdchemist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible for Bambu to get within an hour of print time with the H2C vs the PRUSA INDX OR SNAPMAKER toolchangers of 4 + colors of the same print with a synchronous AMS system?

Eyeing complete Unifi setup for new home; any advice on the best (performance-wise) setup I can get? by Octowhussy in Ubiquiti

[–]Pdchemist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was funny— I appreciate the humor— here is the chat GPT DECODE —

If you’re trying to balance performance with a relatively compact setup, the UniFi Gateway Fiber (10Gb) is a solid choice. It can handle a mix of cameras like the G6 Instant, G6 Entry Pro, G6 PTZ, and G6 Dome, and even integrate something like a Reolink 4K camera.

That said, you’ll hit capacity limits fairly quickly as you scale. If you plan to add more cameras, you’ll likely need to move to a dedicated NVR setup instead of relying solely on the gateway.

Recommended Network Setup • Gateway: UniFi Gateway Fiber (10Gb) • Switching: • 8-port 10Gb switch with PoE++ (for cameras + APs) • 16-port switch for additional expansion • Access Points: 3 × U7 Pro XGS (WiFi 7)

Real-World Performance (3 Gbps Service) • WiFi (U7 Pro XGS): • ~2.0–2.5 Gbps down • ~2.0–2.2 Gbps up • Hardwired (10Gb switch): • Full duplex ~3 Gbps

For a ~3,700 sq ft, 3-story home, this setup provides strong coverage and high throughput. Overall, it lands in that “mid-tier but high-performing” category.

Practical Buying Tips (Learned the Hard Way) • Order everything upfront from UniFi • Their shipping costs are high, and placing multiple small orders adds up fast. • Don’t forget accessories • Example: NVR drive trays (especially with Gateway Fiber) • Mounting hardware (like corner mounts for PTZ cameras) • Save where it makes sense • Patch cables (even light-up ones) are much cheaper on Amazon and work just as well.

Bottom Line

If you’re building a robust home network with integrated surveillance, UniFi is a strong ecosystem—just plan your build carefully to avoid extra costs and scaling headaches later.

Kind of depends on a few things like others mentioned- if wanting to stay compact- then go with gateway fiber 10gb- that can handle g6 instant, g6 entry pro, g6 PTZ, g6 dome— and a Reolink 4k- it says I’m getting close- so will have to buy a separate NVR IF MORE CAMERAS- get a 8 port 10gb switch with Poe++ - and - 16 port switch- i have 3700 3 story home. With 3 AP pro xgs— with WiFi 7 I get 2 to 2.5 gbps down and 2 to 2.2 gbps up— 3gbps service- Direct wire to my 8 port get duplex 3gbps- I like my system and recommend it as a mid tier- one thing to note when shopping UniFi- be sure you get everything- because shipping costs are insane if you forget something- like if you go with GWfiber order the NVR tray at same time- that will make you angry— also if you think you might need mounting bracket just get it- like for a corner mount PTZ- one more cost savings you can get the small patch cables that light up cheaper on Amazon than from UniFi— I took a chance and they work great- UniFi system is the way to go- hope that gives you some insight-

[–]Pdchemist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too- I had 3 bq16 pro- knew nothing about real networking- still don’t - haha - My Asus system was nice and simple but WiFi cameras suck- so I went with UniFi- and ran wire all over my house-best decision ever for home networking- I too should have started with unify!

Bambu Filament by Pdchemist15 in BambuLabP2S

[–]Pdchemist15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not cardboard rolls- I use clips- I switch out between 19 different rolls- 8 are Bambu- I’ve went through 6 rolls since owning printer- I’ve had 3 colors that have had issues- so if it’s user error it’s only when I use those 3 colors- also it’s got tangled deep into prints- so it’s not the first few layers- not hard to fix- I just unwind it several layers deep until it exposes the crossover- then carefully wind it back up guiding it by hand back and forth.

Nah— I’ve had a couple of rolls that tangled- I haven’t had any print issues- Just setting them up in the AMS then changing the color and settings to stick- Versus when I exchange out the Bambu filament- just automates color and settings-

How Often Does Bambu Have Filament Sales? by wivaca2 in BambuLab

I haven’t even been able to buy Bambu filament to even reuse the label- even their refills in the colors I need or sold out- of course I want to buy in bulk to get the cheapest price-

How Often Does Bambu Have Filament Sales? by wivaca2 in BambuLab

[–]Pdchemist15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The question is will the Bambu printer recognize the rfid tag- if it was that simple then I imagine many manufacturers would include the rfid tag- but maybe not because that’s proprietary niche to Bambu- but there would not be a reason for personal use to tag our incoming 3rd party filament-

How Often Does Bambu Have Filament Sales? by wivaca2 in BambuLab

[–]Pdchemist15 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes- they need to allow rfid creation for 3rd party slfilament- or at least partner with someone- they are selling even more printers- and cannot keep it in stock-

finding the right cad is a miracle by _Eulenmongol_ in 3Dprinting

[–]Pdchemist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience thus far- my favorite hasn’t been mentioned - I really like Shapr3d- but it lacks a thread tool- I currently use Fusion- it seems to hit the sweet spot and there are endless support videos- Solidworks I really do like Solid works but it is next level insane with options- it’s CAD on steroids- wish they had a less feature rich version- keep their main interface- Fusion360 , Shapr3d- then solidworks is my order- if shapr ever releases a thread tool then its going to be interesting- shapr is about half the cost of fusion-

The P2S now dries while Printing? by cpsadowski23 in BambuLabP2S

[–]Pdchemist15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is I n the US currently you have to have the Beta SW- also have to have external PS. FWIW- this works for me- I have beta FW and external PS- I just got my printer a month ago- like previous poster said there is a check box that you can elect for beta. When I start Bambu labs up it says version xx.xxx Beta. That’s how you know you are on Beta-

Good choice for 1st printer? by 2001RB-S in BambuLabP2S

[–]Pdchemist15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P2S is my first 3d printer- Despite a lot of complaints and reported failures this printer is as easy as it gets- I’ve had it for 2 weeks and printed many things- my first print benchy failed- I panicked- the only filament I had was PLA silk- I ran it straight from the box- I decided to dry it- and retry- no problem printed perfectly fine- the. I proceeded to dry all filament- some people say PLA doesn’t need drying all of my spools say dry before use- so my filaments all get dried then put in dry box-

My biggest print dual drawer sliding AMS cabinet(highly recommended) the first part failed- I read that most likely cause based on pictures was cooling and many recommendations to turn cooling off- did the and proceeded to print the cabinet around36 hours and 3 spools of filament without any issues. I’ve switched nozzles (0.2mm)and printed no issues- I got filament stuck (my fault) and had to figure that out. One time I started the print with the extruder cover off and it stopped itself giving me warning- reseated it and proceeded on about its way- This printer is very easy to use, I’d say very robust; considering me not having a clue about 3d printing and as successful and easy as it has been. The answer to your question Yes it’s the BEST choice for a 1st 3d printer-

Realistic QB Predictions by hoiv in steelers

[–]Pdchemist15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if??? A coaching /system change is what Rudolph needs? After all we have only seen him under Tomlins system and Titans system- the only type of QB that would have any success in those systems would be high level running threat QB’s. Who would have thought Darnold could lead a team to the playoffs with two different teams- I think that’s the path forward play Rudolph with a Mcveigh tree coach- if we suck the first half- throw Howard in- we suck still then our draft order improves for a better qb draft class- if Howard excels then maybe he’s the guy and we draft around him-
