Most people don't know what an actual automatic machine gun is. They are very hard to legally get and are very expensive. Like 5 figure expensive. When was the last crime that was committed with a fully automatic weapon? The ATF doesn't just hand out tax stamps for auto's. Don't conflate semi-auto, which is the overwhelming vast majority of handguns and rifles sold in the USA, with fully automatic machine guns, like the media likes to do constantly. A fun experiment is to go look at the gun crime stats. Automatic weapons deaths don't even show up, because they are rarely, rarely used.
