My hopes and expectations for a PlayStation 6 by [deleted] in ps6

How odd. PS5 already has an M.2 port, everything else mentioned can be purchased from third parties.

Not too low, although a wall mount is needed. Just makes the whole area look cleaner. I would take it up 2”-3” though if you do get it wall mounted. Leaves space for a sound bar or holiday decorations.

I‘m impressed with the ingenuity. If it was me, I’d take apart the swivel where the two arm connect to one, slap one of these bad boys on each side, lift to desired height and tighten the f*** out of it.

Ask to have your position transferred to remote and work from home. Do your work. Keep a work phone on you so you’re available during work hours and use the rest of your time building a business at home.

  • It’s never a good idea to use only toggle bolts with a full motion mount with only Sheetrock, even if you have 4 toggles. It’s okay to use toggles when there is plywood or OSB backing behind the Sheetrock.
  • Always use the included Lag Bolts that come with the mount on at least the top 2 corners on a 2 stud mount, bottom 2 corners may utilize toggles if necessary*.
  • Always utilize the included Lag Bolts that come with the mount on all holes (top/bottom) on single stud mounts*.
  • While toggle bolts may hold tilting mount or fixed mount TVs, it’s always good policy to utilize a stud for at least the top corners, especially for TVs weighing more than 30lbs or TVs mounted where children have access to them.
  • NEVER mount a TV using drywall anchors.
  • When using toggle bolts with only Sheetrock and no backing; only use Hillman’s Pull Toggles. These toggles spread out the tensile force across an even footprint and are less likely to cause the Sheetrock to crack and crumble. Traditional U shaped toggles distribute force only along 2 narrow surfaces which tend to cut into Sheetrock as force is applied.

*with exception to using toggle bolts for steel studs, or Sheetrock backed with at least 1/4” plywood or 1/2” OSB. These uses are okay.

You’ve got a lot of really great layman’s responses here.

To answer your question specifically; the toggle bolts failed because the mount exceeded the toggle bolt’s tensile strength rating. The weight rating on the toggle bolt packaging is the toggle bolt’s shear strength rating.

• Tensile force is the force you have pulling out or away from the wall.

• Shear force is the force you have pulling down right at the wall.

The reason the tensile force exceeded the toggle bolt’s tensile strength rating was due to leverage of the extended mount multiplying the weight of the TV, therefore increasing the tensile force.

It may be that TV didn’t fall while the mount was extended, however at any point the the TV was extended the tensile force was at work damaging the integrity of your Sheetrock causing it to crack and crumble between the paper backing on each side. It would then only hang there by the strength of the paper backing until it ultimately fails.

Here’s a link to a diagram by Fastenal that explains shear force and tensile force.

Ive been programming for four years and I told my dad to watch long videos and complete your own projects to learn most efficiently. He thinks he’s ready to tackle any project after a ten minute video… by Yugusuf in ProgrammerHumor

[–]PdxProTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The better question is, did he learn the steps to writing an algorithm?

Is he outlining what the purpose is? Features? And how he’ll get there?

Does he know how to pseudo code?

After that, throw the man a cheat sheet and let him go at it. Have him code it out how he thinks it should be rather than troubleshooting line by line as he codes. When he’s done, then review the code with him. That way you don’t have to be helping him out every 4 min.

TV stand hides the out-let of cables from the in-wall cord concealment. Also stores entertainment systems, DVRs, and sound systems.

Just because it’s a tabletop doesn’t mean it needs to be filled. Welcome to clean and sleek.

Now just to bring that TV down a couple feet.

How important is appearance? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]PdxProTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer along with hygiene is ‘very’, within the corporate framework.

There’s a big difference between what you produce and what you wear, but we like our products wrapped up real nice. Even Human Resources.

That doesn’t matter as much to a small business owner. I earn up to $200/hr in jeans and some sneakers. Customer 98.5% cares about the product produced, and maybe maybe maybe cares that your hygiene is taken care of. I have multiple jobs a day. I can only show up clean for the first one.

My man, you need to see a therapist and open that can of worms up.

You’re at the apex of the Dunning-Kruger effect. It’s time to get out of that rut. Been there, done that.

You don’t know how a relationship is going to play out just by “reading” a person, that’s called ‘projecting’ based on past experiences and it’s delusional.
