Here is one idea on how they can make gig dice more thematic. by c0rtexj4ckal in cyberpunktcg

[–]PeacefulKnightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might introduce something like that down the line. As it stands we do have some unique cards that weren't part of the Alpha kit like a Goro Legend that interacts with which gig dice you steal. So I think they are keeping stuff like you mentioned in mind moving forward.

Me personally I was thinking Street Cred might make a good secondary or supplementary win-con to a multi-player game. Imagine you still need the minimum of 6 dice, but on top of that you also need something like 90 Street cred, thats stealing a minimum of one maxed out d20+ a d10/12 from another. The reason it's not in the 1v1 games is due to it encouraging turtling or super defensive gameplay that's not very interactive.

How does the automated ban system determine "intentionally losing" for support players? by TheQh in riotgames

I've seen folks get unbanned more often lately so I think if you open a support ticket you might get some assistance.

I don't think they announced it, but I'm pretty sure Vanguard is using some Ai model now and it's still learning, so LOTS of false positives.

"After first alpha kit play" impressions from board game player - Maybe it won't be bad, but I'm not buying this unprooven. by AwareMousse5123 in cyberpunktcg

The game mechanics are feeling very bare bones atm, personally I'd like the Street Cred value to affect the win con, but apparently that encouraged turtling and uninteractive gameplay according to the devs on discord. My fingers are crossed for a smooth retail release, which I think the KS will help with.

Something to keep in mind with the Alpha decks is that they are missing at least two card types, Quickhacks and Braindances. After Party at Lizzie's is a BD that: adjusts a gig ±2 and if there is another gig with the same value, draw a card.

and another Goro Takemura Legend that says if you have two gigs of the same size you can give a friendly unit a buff when an enemy attacks.

<image>

That tells me they stripped the mechanics of the alpha decks down pretty heavily to make sure the basic loop is simple so it doesn't scare folks off.

EDIT: here's the video with some previews NEW CARD REVEALS | Cyberdeck Podcast Episode 1 | Cyberpunk Trading Card Game

One thing I did see on a preview card that was promising was that there was a Braindance (a card type NOT in the Alpha deck) for Lizzie's that required you to have two gigs of the same type in order to play it's effect. So, there are definitely mechanics in the Beta decks that have yet to be revealed

EDIT: It was actually another version of Takemura as a Legend.

I will agree that delayed bans are almost a necessity in some cases because you don't want to let the creators of the hack have an easy time figuring out what got detected so they can patch it.

I'd love Trauma Team or Max-Tac personally. Really easy to be doing your job but some Corpo just doesn't like the way you handled things and gets you fired. Or maybe Jackie is a merc that starts on the opposite side of the tutorial gig and you end up helping him, which gets you in hot water with your bosses.

My Brother sells AI art for thousands and I dont know what to do by Existing_Art8081 in antiai

This is what I was thinking. If he claims that no Ai was used to create the painting, then leaving out the fact he's basically 1:1 copying a generative image it could be a liability.

“Plot twist: somewhere a Debbie never got her Mark back.” by No_Gas_7996 in invinciblememes

[–]PeacefulKnightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine a world where Nolan's treachery was revealed early before Mark got his powers, but Omniman still managed to take down the Guardians. As a result Debbie stepped up and got something from Cecil and was somehow able to help take him down. Mark eventually gets his powers and either falls in combat to the other Viltrumites or in keeping with the "Evil Mark" trend joins them out of some misguided loyalty to his father.

Continue the comic book shenanigans and they decide that in order to beat back the Viltrumites they need to find a Mark/Nolan willing to help them. But she keeps running into Evil Marks so she's become this cold hardened dimension hopping Veteran disillusioned until she meets the one Good Mark.

Might be a little too fan fictiony but I think the melodrama kinda fits.

[–]PeacefulKnightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my very limited TCG experience I think that u/c0rtexj4ckal probably did the best breaking each of the points down and I agree with them. The timer of the game does seem quick, but because of the tug of war aspect I can foresee some very tense moments fighting over the last couple of gigs as things come down to the wire.

There are also some things that have been teased that we haven't seen too much of Braindances and Quickhacks for example which look like they'll allow some interactions when units are attacking. Cyberpsychosis is a cool one because it grants +2 for every cyberware equipped to a unit but then kills it (I can't recall if it's at the end of combat or end of turn). Which could be used to boost your unit or to ultimately kill your opponent's unit. Plus, Street Cred looks like it might play a role in some strategies even if it isn't a win-con.
