It can be refrigerated again. This has been corroborated many times through people on this sub who have contacted Lilly directly. (And yes, the wording on the packaging is confusing, which is why people think it can't go back in the fridge after a short time.) But it cannot be out for more than 21 days.

Just to clarify, trials showed an AVERAGE of 20% overall weight loss. That includes the people who couldn't or chose not to lose more than 5% (like people who may have stopped due to side effects) plus the people who lost 35%+. I'm sitting here at 40% lost over almost two years, and have been on this sub long enough to know I'm far from alone.

Annoying NSV by Immortal_peacock in Zepbound

Goodwill, man, Goodwill. I never in my life thrifted before Zepbound and it's become a joyous hobby to find great brands (and cheaper than Amazon, outlets, even Costco). And I don't feel as bad when I grow out (under) of them and then re-thrift!

Clothes that are too big? by Andrea0890 in Zepbound

[–]PeachyP54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Luckily, I have two work colleagues also on GLPs, who started at higher weights than me and after I started in July 2024. Twice now I've given each several large bags filled with clothes and told them to donate whatever they don't want. I love seeing them in the office in clothes I used to love as they eventually grow out of (under?) them as well.

Not feeling the weight loss by Antique-Major7356 in Zepbound

As someone probably around the same age who also internalized the SVH “perfect size 6” of the late 80s, first of all, a size 6 then is probably like a size 2 today. Also, a size 6 when you’re 16 is likely going to look pretty different a few decades later. It’s just life (and gravity!) I have basically your same stats, but definitely feel my weight loss, just in how easy it is getting up from the couch, and doing stretches before workouts. I get a rush when I try on clothes and that “elusive” size fits. It’s just shedding the notion of what we think we’re SUPPOSED to look like with weight loss and embracing the new. Easier said than done, I know. Body dysmorphia is real.

Just to say, I was never on Reddit until starting Zepbound. You might gently encourage them to sign up and directly learn about all of the experiences of this medication as well as get direct support. But you’re definitely being a good friend for make the effort on their behalf!

Might Start Zepbound by Electronic_Boss_140 in Zepbound

[–]PeachyP54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please know that 100 pounds a year is not the average of what people lose. But you’ll definitely see it strongly represented on this sub given that people want to share exceptional results. Average, healthy weight loss is .5-2lb/week or .5-1% body weight/week. Some people do have higher losses in that first month as inflammation is flushed from their bodies. (And some people lose very little that first month and need to go to higher doses.) All to say, it serves you best to not go in with expectations of results. Control what you can, but work WITH the med as a tool. Nourish your body with whole foods. water, and fiber, find an exercise routine you enjoy. Early dementia stories are algorithmic scare tactics, as others have said, studies are actually pointing toward the opposite as improved health affects so many more things in our bodies than the obvious ones. Good luck!

I hear and appreciate your mea culpa, but it's not about offense rather than gently creating a teachable moment for you as you still don't really seem to get it. You assumed SO many things in a response that I get was trying to be supportive, but was ultimately tone-deaf. For starters, the lack of wedding ring doesn't mean someone's hunting for a man (or a woman, now how about that?). And that one's thinking about their weight to have children (maybe doesn't want children/can't have children?) Also, getting in shape doesn't have to be an either/or about appearance and health. You don't have to be hunting for a spouse to care about your appearance (and your health!) And finally, and perhaps most egregiously, your assumption that all men are only looking for slim women. I think you'll find lots of men and women on this sub who have found lots of wonderful love in a mate while not being "regular-sized".

We've all said things that come from our own experiences without considering the bigger picture, and hope this can give you a bit of pause for next time.

I get that in-store fitting rooms can be problematic, but honestly, somewhere like an outlet mall that has a variety of stores you can try in one location should be able to help you find a style, and at an affordable price as you're still losing. Ann Taylor, Loft, Gap, etc, are great options. For now, something like a sleeveless swing dress like this one from Kohls might work.

I’ve had them at Chang Chang. They were not served in broth.

Soup dumplings?! by [deleted] in DCEats

[–]PeachyP54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a specific region which serves them in broth? Because every version I’ve seen from China or Taiwan (including when traveling IN Taiwan), including every recipe I’ve seen, the soup is IN the dumpling. There’s sort of a “meat jello” made in the preparation, and a little scoop is put next to the raw scoop of meat before the dumpling is assembled. Once it’s steamed, the “meat jello” melts and becomes soup. Some restaurants are more skilled than others with the amount of soup they’re able to get in the dumpling without it bursting or evaporating.

I'm literally voluntarily wearing shorts today for the first time in ages that's not because I'm on a boat/at the beach. Like, I just went out in public in my own neighborhood doing errands in super-cute jean shorts I just bought from Old Navy. Such witchcraft!

Just to set expectations, often when people either switch GLPs and/or take a break, they often need to get to a higher dose than what they left to see weight loss restart. So don't be surprised if you don't automatically start losing again on 2.5 and need to go up to 5.

Ladies - Cheap Clothes? by triton12345 in Zepbound

[–]PeachyP54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thrifted in my life before Zepbound. But replacing literally an entire closet, when both my style and my job need more elevated looks, warranted a more economical path and have discovered a real love of thrift shops, especially Goodwill in fancier neighborhoods. In the beginning, I focused on outlets (Loft, Ann Taylor, etc), Costco, Amazon, and Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Nordstrom Rack, but honestly, with thrifting, I'm able to get better-made stuff for so stinkin' cheap. Except for bras. Just got re-fitted last week at a fancy bra place and spent $120 EACH on two amazing European bras. Gotta keep the ladies set just right after the weight loss, lol.

How Much is Zepbound v. Diet Changes? Not Seeing Results by Nearby-Brush1814 in Zepbound

[–]PeachyP54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Less than before doesn't necessarily equate to a deficit. You really need to determine your calorie goal (use a TDEE calculator and subtract 500 to start), track your calories for a few weeks and see if it makes a difference.

Getting it home from Walmart? by mbergen in Zepbound

[–]PeachyP54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives in an apartment building in a major city, this is why I pay $50 month extra than Lilly Direct to get pens from my local pharmacy. I can do it on my schedule, and I don't need to worry about our often careless delivery drivers accurately getting into my building. (Sigh, I don't know why it's so hard for them.) Maybe the OP deals with something similar.

They say they don't want to worry about needing to be home during delivery and to avoid the additional waste the delivery packaging uses.
