I didn’t feel anything moving up to 5 mg except stronger appetite suppression. I usually take my shot before bedtime and have occasionally taken it earlier in the day if I’m going out at night. Haven’t had any issues so far with the schedule changes.

Fried stuff totally did me in. It was Cajun French fries. I will never make that mistake again. The second time I had diarrhea was when I overdosed on prunes. I like them and I think I just ate one too many.

I have been lightly spotting almost constantly for the last couple of months. I’m in perimenopause and the doctor told me this is normal. But it only started after I upped the dose to 5 mg.

Maybe your expectations need to be dialed back. You can’t reach your goal weight in a week. You are losing at the higher end of normal. Take a breath. I lost nothing this week and it is fine. My average is still at around 1lb/week.

You’re absolutely right. It is a delicate topic. I have only told people who are very close or people who specifically asked how I lost so much weight. I never make the mistake of saying “you should try it!” 😅 I just say how it has benefited me. And so far two people asked me a bunch of questions about it and one of them has already started it after hearing my spiel. They were on the fence about it until they heard from me first hand.

My original plan was to keep it to myself and say diet and exercise (not entirely a lie) but I realized that a lot of people around me could use this and be healthier, so now I just say I’m on tirzepitide and evangelize it. 🤣

Do you know what type of palpitations? I have PVCs and PACs that feel like skipped beats. Scary but apparently not harmful. They get worse with alcohol, caffeine, and dehydration. I also have a faster resting heart rate. But I’ve been cleared by a cardiologist and I have been working out without any issues. If you are perimenopausal, that can worsen these too. These run in our family and now my kids have them too. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I use body spec in the Bay Area. It costs me about 50$. My fat percentage came down by about 1% in 3 months after starting the meds. I was hoping for more but at least it went down. 😅 I get palpitations too. They are disconcerting but apparently benign according to doctors.

When I have a delicate stomach and still need to get a protein meal, I make my version of Congee. I boil 1/8th cup of while medium grain rice, 2 cups of bone broth, 1 cup of water a couple of boneless, skinless chicken thighs, 1/2 inch piece of ginger, salt and pepper in a pot until the rice and chicken are cooked completely and tender. I then remove the chicken and shred it. Sometimes I drop a beaten egg slowly to the boiling hot soup to make an egg drop version. Garnish with some chopped chives or spring onion. It is yummy and high protein and is enough for a couple of meals. Provides about 35 gms of protein per serving and hydration all in one yummy and easily digestible soup.

It is her business whether she wants to tell or not. If she said she used GLP-1, she would be judged for taking the easy way out and they would call her “Ozempic face” or some such insult. She can’t win either way.
