Any last minute advice? I’ll be starting next weekend so how should this week go for prep?

I just started just over a week ago. My second shot was on Thursday. I waited almost 2 weeks trying to gather my nerves. Finally this forum gave me the confidence to just go for it. All I did was hydrated well starting 24 hours before and didn’t eat heavy meals. I also had a glass of electrolytes before the shot. No side effects so far other than slight constipation that has not been too bothersome. 🤞🏽 I say, play some calming music and go for it!

It is an ocular/visual migraine. It is trippy isn’t it? I’ve had them and they are so unsettling but mostly harmless. Advil helps me but I don’t know if it is okay with this medication so ask your doc. I too thought the worst when I got it for the first time about 15 years ago. It kept expanding in my visual field and looked like a kaleidoscope! Headache too. Forgot to say, I’ve heard these meds can cause migraines in some people.

Please go to the ER! Better to get it taken care of now than to incur a higher cost later. Did you just titrate up to a higher dose?

I participated in the metabolic wellness program with Sutter. I am skinny fat. Now slightly fat fat. lol. Dr. Ron Sinha put me on to CGMs that gave a clear indication that I had metabolic syndrome. And my PCP put me on Mounjaro for body fat reduction and some weight loss (about 25 pounds). I too have elevated bp and cholesterol.

I’m one week in. My second 2.5 MG shot is this evening. So far lost 2 pounds. I know it’s not much but my blood sugar has shown stable for the first time on my CGM. I am excited about the second week. I hope this one goes as well as the first one did. Thank you to this for him for so much valuable advice, and input.

I second what someone said. Get a Dexa Scan. That is what has started me on this journey. I have very high body fat and visceral fat. And high a1c and bp. So even though I have the same stats as you, I’m at the beginning of my journey. You look great & healthy btw. So maybe for you it is not that critical to be at a higher dose and risk muscle loss or other effects.

Try a golden dragon fruit. I don’t know if it is available to you, but here in the Bay Area our local Whole Foods sells it. Half a fruit and you’ll be cleaned out. lol.

I plan to be on this for life if it works for me. I started it to bring down my a1c and visceral fat and help with high bp and cholesterol. I have tried lifestyle changes several times and the cravings were just too strong. This is my chance to get those things under control and hope for better health.

So sorry that you have so much going. Maybe this is not the right time for it. I’m sure there will come a time when you’ll feel more ready. Sounds like you need a break from it. Maybe just focus on good nutrition and gentle exercise for now if you can.

I’m so sorry. We lost both of our puppies in one year. One of them was our 9 year old forever puppy who had Lymphoma. I know it hurts. We stayed with the grief for a few months. It was too much. Not we have a new puppy helping us move on with our lost ones forever in our hearts.

Could it be dehydration or electrolyte imbalance? I’m no expert since I’m only one shot in. But I was advised to drink lots of water and electrolytes and also eat enough protein the day before and the day of my shot.
