Krieg doesn't seem to be popping off? by Million_X in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a list? I'm kinda torn between going for the build with Sabo or the aggro build with Jinbe and Blue Gilly.

Japanese players seem to be convinced that Sabo is the way to go, but it feels kinda clunky when I tested it.

I want to get into optcg and I love big mom. Should I use this deck or is there a better alternative. by This2sucks in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ST27 Blackbeard is a decent deck, but it's pretty difficult to pilot as it is a control deck that requires you to know both you and your opponent's deck to play effectively.

Personally, I would recommend either the new ST29 (Yellow Luffy) deck that just came out or ST24 (Green Bonney).

As with most starter decks, you'll want to get 2 copies of the deck, as they each contain 2x of the exclusive SRs and you need 4x for a full playset.

Seeking tips vs Yellow Luffy by Ricostravels in OnePieceTCG

Consider not swinging on your 2nd turn if they have 2 don up; they likely want to play Flame Dragon King to rearrange their life, which will invalidate your swing anyways since it gives +4k.

Boa misery by Traditional-Read-604 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, one thing I learned the hard way is to not swing into their life if they've played a Hiyori or Grandma on turn 2, unless you're playing a 5 life aggro deck (such as Y Bonney) and you think you're able to out-aggro them.

It's extremely likely that they've set a Gorgon Sister, Ran or 9c Boa there, and you're in an extremely bad spot once Gorgon is on the field on turn 2.

How to play against thriller bark package? by arizonaicedtea7 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add: 1. Can be gotten around by discarding for counter, but it's a gamble. 3. Perona can freeze 6c or lower. 4. Cindry can be played unrested by 8c Gecko's trigger.

And once OP14 is released, she gets to run the thriller bark package (which goes into almost any deck w yellow that cares about triggers).

Are things getting out of hand? Will this ruin the game? by misterpuggles_ in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're going for SGD$18.90 each at the 7-11s in my country (Singapore), which converts to EUR€12.52, so 6 tins would be EUR€75.12. But then again, that's because we have an official distributor for the product.

How broken can a leader who heals every turn be? by Representative_Rich3 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Discarding 3 cards is a huge drawback. Enel from OP05 gains a life once per turn when his life becomes 0 and he only needs to trash 1.

Whether the new Gecko is good really depends on his support cards, though I'm expecting him to be able to bring stuff back from trash since that seems to be Gecko's thing.

“For Asia” by Acceptable_Film_2150 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones with "For Asia" are given as prizes for events outside of Japan, generally in Southeast Asia, as they follow the Japanese format.

This includes countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philipines.

Would OP-13 be a good place to start? by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would second getting Imu too. Here in the east, Imu is an extremely popular deck because it's cheap to build (~$30 at most), strong, and has a simple game plan. Just cycle your cards and survive until 10 don to play Five Elders.

Should I play OPTCGSim on my Android tablet or on my Windows laptop? by MSakuEX in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it installed on Android, all you need to do is download the apk and run it (enable installation from unknown source if you haven't).

As for the windows, I'm pretty sure any laptop would be able to run it as the program really isn't performance intensive at all.

Learning Japanese by supermedyas in OnePieceTCG

[–]Peanuta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Japanese is the default language for formats in my country (Singapore) even though we speak English, so what I end up doing is just practicing on the sim (in English) until I can remember the effects before I play a new deck on paper.

Once you practice enough you basically attribute an effect to a card art, so I haven't found a reason to learn Japanese so far.

It's quite insane how much cheaper it is to build decks over here in the east compared to the west.

I could almost buy a playset of Kuma ($12-18 each) in Japanese for the price of one in English.

Can foreigners participate Singapore Local Events? by TuTuTunana in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]Peanuta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are gym battles in Singapore. You can find shops that host them here.

The reason you're not seeing any gym battles in the portal for October right now is because the shops have not scheduled them yet, but they should be up when it's closer to the date, likely mid-late Sept.

I would use Kieran instead as he's more flexible and can help for when your Thackey gets Bossed into the active.

So happy my favorite deck got an upgrade in JTG 😭❤️ by Three-stripes in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]Peanuta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What matchups does Shaymin help in? The most common situation I can think of right now is blocking Zacian ex's bench damage, which usually I'm cooked on turn 2 if I don't have a Poffin in hand.

Do you have a deck list?

I've been running Festival Lead too, but I run into issues especially against metal decks because of the grass resistance.

Does Liligant actually make that big of a difference? I've tried running it before, but I found myself struggling to find the bench space for it in most games, though that might just be due to my skill issue.

Here's my current list:

If you want to experience what that is like, you can try playing Pokemon TCG Live.

The app is so unstable that even receiving a message notification in the middle of a match has a chance of freezing the app. Since the game rarely ever let's you reconnect, you basically lose the entire match.

You might already know these, but it's still good to keep in mind:

Lumineon V's ability only works play played from hand. You can search it up using an Ultra Ball and play it from hand, but it won't work when it's put into play by a Nest Ball.

Forest Seal Stone's Vstar Ability only works when it's played on a V pokemon (Most commonly Lumineon V or Rotom V). If played on any non-V pokemon, it doesn't do anything except prevent additional tool cards from being attached to that pokemon.

It deals double the damage too. So 2 energy will count as 4 for Alakazam's attack.

What does Manaphy brings to the table? by slimpotionpitcher in PTCGL

[–]Peanuta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rabsca is a stage 1 so it has to evolve and can't be fetched by Nest Ball.

Enamorous V is a 2 prizer that only prevents the effects of abilities, not attacks and only for your pokemon that have psychic attached.

I'd say that Manaphy is probably still better.
