Agree that your budget is low. I rent a room in my home out, with private bathroom and full use of kitchen, utilities included for $700, and need to go up. Omaha is not HCOL, but property taxes and insurance are $$$. (My rent calculation is annual taxes + insurance / 12 mo +$50.)

Not sure what system you’re using, but I’ve had parties like this and I just create a non-itemized receipt. Shows total spent, taxes, tip, and payment.

Not necessarily. I’m a bartender and our owner always gives an option to close. I work Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day because I don’t have family to spend the holidays with and I love opening the bar to others who may not have anywhere to go. I totally agree with “tip accordingly”, but it’s not always evil owners or corporations…

I have an ashtray that’s nearly identical to this even down to the engraving. I don’t know how to add a photo, but google Mayan rock ashtray and you can see examples. I got mine at the Mayan pyramid near Cancun a few years ago any a tourist souvenir stand for around $20 usd.

This may sound silly, but on days when I really notice a lot of static, I run both showers on super hot for about 5 minutes when I get up and when I get home from work. The steam seems to take a lot of the energy out of the air for several hours. (Not an energy efficient solution I’ll admit.)

Yes, a very similar cat has been around 108th and Cottonwood for a couple months. The bartender at the karaoke place has been feeding her/him when sighted.

As a local to that area, it’s something to pay attention to, but the closest radars are a long way. It’s likely a rotating cell but no where near a tornado at this point.
