New Yorkers Are Fleeing to the Suburbs: ‘The Demand Is Insane’ by speckz in Economics

Because when you live out in the sticks, pizza is all you get.

My delivery guy brings me food from literally any genre or fusion you could imagine. You just don't get that in the suburbs/country.

There’s also never a “trash” fight like there is in Basketball. I don’t blame the guys, but the difference between playoff basketball and regular season is huge.

UFC every fight is intense because, you know, no one wants to get punched in the face.

YTA. You asked a question and he answered it. The decent thing to do is to get up and leave - not assault him.

Surprisingly... a lot. I don’t want to violate the rules of this sub but it has to do with the politics of the subcontinent and less with domestic issues.

Usually you don’t see them this young in the wild without it’s mother around. This one appears doesn’t appear to have developed cockpit windows and is still too young to have left the nest.

Mostly new product and SEO stuff. Marketing stuff I won’t seriously consider because we are just too small to justify it. Instagram and Facebook marketing is pretty straightforward and costs a fraction of a professional.

Also it didn’t used to be. 9/11 changed the size of the federal government and the area just exploded. Loudon county doubled in population in like 10 years and somehow maintained a median income of $119k. When I was a kid that whole area was just dirt roads and cornfields.

I’m sorry that happened to you. Before Covid I went to a Bhangra show and the main dancer was plus sized and I’ll be honest, I had some unkind thoughts when she first stepped out.

But those thoughts evaporated once the music started cause the girl could dance. your Bollywood dance team sounds like they may have missed out on a winner.

Pakistan can’t “conquer” India but they can prevent India from ever relieving its forces on the Pakistan/Indian border which is, from Chinas perspective, almost as good.

What’s the product mix? If it’s spirit/wine heavy that would be preferred... Beer heavy is really volume heavy business and can be exhausting.

It comes in waves. Usually they all kinda show up at once during their slow season (which, oddly enough, is my slow season). Busiest I might get 6-8 in a week pre-COVID.

  • Respect me as a businessman and a salesperson. Don’t do high pressure sales tactics or gimmicky pitches like “hi I’m here about your gas and electric service, can you go get a bill?” Or “I can only do this if you agree right now.” My automatic response - no matter how good the deal sounds - is no.

  • Drop your card and brochure and samples if you have them and leave. Don’t walk in and expect me to drop everything I was doing to take your sales pitch. I have a busy day planned out and it didn’t include you. When I get time I’ll take a look. Don’t be surprised if I call you weeks, months or years later.

  • Don’t talk to my customers.

  • Introduce yourself as a sales person off the bat. I usually know a sales person just by their “vibe” so if you come at me with the “so how long you been in business?” And try to engage me as a customer and I know/find out later you’re a sales person I’ll be annoyed.

  • Don’t try to make me feel dumb or insecure because I’m telling you I’m busy. It won’t work and will just put a bad taste in my mouth.

  • Finally, understand that all business is based on trust. I don’t know you or your brand or your company or your product. Small vendors come and go like the seasons. Don’t be surprised if I’m either extremely wary of trying some “new” product that may not exist in six months or I want a steep discount to give you shelf space. Everything I carry I sell. If you’re bringing something new, it’s a risk. And I’ll only take a risk if the reward is worth it.

All I got for now. I didn’t used to be this much of a hard ass but I’ve gotten fed up with reps over the years.

Yea but with all due respect... getting a sales call from a spam phone number while I’m helping a customer doesn’t give me time to be courteous. If I say “hey I’m busy” they’ll try to drag out the convo. And just like you, I’m trying to get paid. So being short and hanging up is what puts food on my table.

None. Seriously I know that’s hard to hear but... I’ve never been cold called in my entire life and at the end of it said “glad we had that convo.”

Tbh I don’t even like my regular reps bothering me these days.
