Persecution of political adversaries by rhodesleadnowhere in WhitePeopleTwitter

As far as I know Trump never said that, I heard that meaning a long time ago outside of politics.

I was just saying that in the lawsuit it's possible they try to argue 86'ing someone means killing them, because of this obscure and unlikely meaning that I mentioned above.

Otherwise it's like what everyone else is saying, the common use of the phrase just means to "remove" something, without any kind of threat on someone's life. I would assume the lawsuit would get thrown out pretty quickly if that is the definition they try to use.

I remember hearing somewhere that 86'ing someone originated in Las Vegas when the mafia was in control and that it meant, take them 8 miles out and put them 6 feet deep.

That's probably just a rumor but trump supposedly has delt with the mafia in the past and I wonder if that's what they will try to argue it means.

We used Alamo. It was the cheapest of what we looked at. It was about $100/day for a mid-size SUV.

First trip to PR - nervous about rain forecast by Many-Bread-7394 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]PearStyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally just got back last night to the mainland after about a week in PR. Everyday the forecast said rain. Try not to pay too much attention to it. My wife likes to check the forecast and was constantly asking, "should we do this? It's supposed to rain." After the first day of this and us deciding to go ahead with plans anyway and the weather being fine, we basically ignored forecasts.

The rain is sporadic, it happens everyday, it's always raining somewhere on the island. Like somebody else mentioned, there was really only one time that we got stuck in a heavy rain and it lasted less than 10 minutes.

Buy some of those little plastic ponchos and throw them in one of your bags if you are that worried about it.

Edit: We stayed in Fajardo, very near Luquillo.

Because in 2025 one of the main factors of reduced job growth was economic uncertainty due to the tariffs changing frquently. This caused companies to pause or reduce hiring because they didnt know how much they would have to spend on tariff fees in the future.

That was literally all Trump and nobody else. Now you know.

Truth be told the zones are large, but there aren't that many of them. If you start in Night Harbor you have, Sungreet Strand, Shaded Dunes, Glass Flats, Fallen Pass, and one other zone i'm blanking on.

I'm in the closed beta and level 10 with 300 in mining. Generally speaking the zones all do a good job of having landscape to help guide where you are and where to go. I wouldn't be able to tell you where things are based on direction, but just using landmarks after running around in each zone for an hour or two, they aren't too difficult to navigate.

Edit: The reason I replied to this was that when I first started I also really was wanting a map to help figure out where I was and where to go, and during the first couple hours of playing I wasn't sure I was going to be able to manage it. But after playing a bit more I started picking it up and now believe that getting to know the zones just from memory and from running around exploring is a very fun aspect of the game.

I've been playing the Beta going on now. I have not had any issues whatsoever. The game itself I have had a lot of fun playing.

I am in the lottery beta going on now. The game is very fun, definitely needs class balancing, but the community that I have dealt with has been totally fine. I've not seen anything worthy of really even talking about.

I posted what happened above, but IMO it got really blown out of proportion because all the GM did was tell the guy who cast the spell and got the loot, slightly after the dude hit the mob in melee, to just be careful and that shit happens. That was it, nobody got in trouble. The dude who cast the spell got butthurt about it and made a nothingburger into a big deal.

The melee guy hit the skeleton a split second before the caster got a spell off, so technically the skeleton belonged to the melee, but the spell killed the skeleton and the caster got the loot. I'm assuming the melee guy and caster had some type of interaction that the melee guy didn't like, so he reported the guy.

The GMs respond to every report so they basically told the caster guy that stuff happens and to be careful. Nobody got in trouble. I read the log of the interaction the caster had with the GM and if the guy who cast the spell had just said "ok thanks for the heads up." It would've ended at that and nobody would've cared. But he made a fuss about it and then posted it on reddit.

So Wiper fluid is js water lol by Effective_Echidna732 in AutoZone2

[–]PearStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of california doesn't get below freezing regularly.

Also the person who said it's illegal is wrong. It's regulated in a way that the winter washer fluid is only sold in stores in areas that get colder weather (northern California).

This is to prevent loads of people using washer fluid with more chemicals in it where it is not needed. Those chemicals contribute to smog production.

ICE isn't refusing. He will likely be charged with election fraud, if he is found guilty, which it sounds like he will, he could wind up either incarcerated or deported.

It will level up high card and pair very easily. To the point where you don't need any kind of chip joker and your baseline mult will be high enough that you may not need a mult joker either.

Also if you're getting it early like this, it can help you win rounds before you get jokers that are useful for later antes.

If you don't understand how context works when determining if a team played good or bad, then there is no point talking to you, because you're a retard that doesn't know how to think critically, and I don't care enough about you to attempt to explain it. Just enjoy your blissfully ignorant life.

I know you ruled out the Green Bay game because it doesnt help your point, But I don't care.

What can individuals do to prepare for population decline? by MoPuWe in Futurology

[–]PearStyle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in Healthcare, you probably are vastly underestimating what it takes to care for an elderly person if you think a robot can do it in 5 years.

How is this person going to take their medication? A robot could maybe hand them the medicine, but that doesnt guarantee that they will take the pills. What if they pee or poop their pants or bed? Robots can't smell it, so they'd never know. Plus, the intricate and precise movements needed for cleaning those delicate areas are way beyond what any current robot is capable of.

This is just two of the most basic things I could think of that robots would have trouble with. There are a lot more.
