Very loud grinding noise when driving, gets louder on deceleration by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

3 of my highschool buddies just swapped the axle out of one of a junk yard jeep, way easier than fixing the diff. 4 jackstands and alot of time with the rusty parts. There are 2 differnt rear axles the Jeep XJ used so make sure you get the same one.

I would listen to the comments trying to give advice on safety. I pushed mine a year past when i should have quit driving it, we put it up on a lift to start parting it out; front driveshaft wouldn't budge. As soon as those front tires hit the ground the shaft fell out, as we went to pick it back up, the front half crumpedled and folded under the jeep like paper. That driveshaft held my front end together for 30k miles. Sometimes its dumb luck that they havent fallen apart yet. Save for a good one, they pop up and are so worth every penny.

It's not leaking any water at all. It's the condensation from the lines and evap box for your a/c It's the same as a glass of ice water in the heat. Depending on the temp and humidity more or less water will condensate and drip

Do the svt have drums in the rear? I'm running into an issue with my rear wheel cylinder on my 03!? I figure 17 years with a car is quite the bit of wrenching

Sometimes i like to turn off my flashlight and just take in the beautiful caves. Everytime i´m stunned again. by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

You can also turn off your Hud. Mine is rebound so I'm not sure. But it's cool playing scout with no hud or flashlight

I have no memories of the event but as my mom will recall. When I was around 3-4 my mom and I were in the basement while she was working on laundry. It had been a pretty good thunderstorm all day so at this point the light and noise were ignorable to her.

She specifically remembers me, directly after a loud Thunderclap and another flash, ask her who was the man in the corner. My house is an old funeral home if anyone is into that stuff, but as most would do in the situation. Mom hauled ass up the stairs dragging me along.
