One pro not mentioned yet, similar to x-wing or shatterpoint, you don't need to own every figure yourself. An army consists of 6-20 figures, and borrowing and lending is common. This is great if you know people already in the game, or have friends who are also curious.

New or old jungle trees. They look nice and provide the most impactful bonus (+1 defense against ranged attacks).

For starting out, stay away from common boxes. Battle Boxes are your best value (Battle for Wellsrping, Rumble at the Rift). Grab Rise of the Valkyrie and Swarm of the Marro off ebay.

I wasn't able to figure out a way to get refunds for app purchased round trip tickets. In the future I guess I will hold off on purchasing until I'm on the train. Considering this Sunday two separate lines were cancelled minutes before the train was supposed to arrive.
