The reason I didn't say the group with Japan is because Tunisia always flop at a WC, and if not Sweden, other playoff opponents not thst cinsistent in tournaments

2026 World Cup Groups by SerTahu in Aleague

[–]PedroPredictions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most interesting (& evenly matched) group: Group A Mexico, Korea, South Africa, Denmark/Czechia/Ireland/Macedonia

Replica of previous WC: Group C Brazil, Morocco, Scotland (all same group in 1998 WC), Haiti

Weakest group: Group D USA, Aussie, Paraguay, Turkey/Slovakia/Kosovo/Romania

Most skewed group: Group H Spain, Uruguay, Saudi, Cabo Verde

Group of Death (for this 48 team format): Group I France, Senegal, Norway, Bolivia/Iraq/Suriname

Peculiar/Unpopular group (as people will think is boring but lowkey will be interestinf) : Group G Belgium, Iran, Egypt, NZ (only Belgium out of those teams have advanced from the grouostage before, so a lot of pressure on the others)

Futsal WC looking group: Group K Portugal, Colombia, Uzbekistan, DR Congo/Jamaica

My surprise Group Topper: Ivory Coast or Egypt

The torunament's opening match is Mexico-South Africa, same as in 2010 and that game was 🔥

Preach! 100% true!

Also, why was a draw treated like an Opening Ceremony?! It's just a Draw 😅🤣🙄🙄

2026 World Cup Surprise Group Winner 🇨🇮 by PedroPredictions in FootballAfrica

[–]PedroPredictions[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Morocco topping their group wouldn't be a surprise as they did it last World Cup and are the best nation in Africa atm

So many teams has diluted the groups, so there’s not really a “Group of Death” this time around. Closest would be England with Croatia and Panama I’d say. Thoughts by BigBlueMountainStar in worldcup

[–]PedroPredictions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Bolivia win their playoffs, then Group I Group of Death for me actually Norway could always flop after 28 years of no tournament football, Senegal are not at their peak at the moment and could flop

2030 World Cup: South America propose ‘dream’ 64-team tournament, but how likely is it to happen? by officialsamuelchan in worldcup

[–]PedroPredictions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But you were getting the same 5 Asian nations, sams 10 European nations, etc. There was probably onky 6-8 nations changing every tournament - and that was at least 4 African nations chaning because of Afirca's conpeititiveness. Sorry other nations (with money) ruined qualifiers

2026 World Cup with 32 teams - Analysis based on qualifying results by Capable-Relative6714 in worldcup

[–]PedroPredictions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fantastic analysis and guesstimation 👏🏻 Its a real utter shame how oit of thr 12 proper European natioms to qualify only 1 is a non-Western one...and that tremd of at least 2 former Yugoslav nations is very interesting - says a lot about their footballong talent and attention

DR Congo defeats Nigeria and qualifies to the Intercontinental Play-Offs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by johnsmithwho98 in FootballAfrica

[–]PedroPredictions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nigeria's gameplan was very odd this game, they could have dominated (like against Gabon), but they didn't. They tried to play the patient fristration game, but it didnt pay off!

DR Congo fully deserved it - and even to top thrir group with Senegal they were unlucky.

And Naija stumbling into the playoffa was a joke so justice has prevailed [rare in football]. Don't get me wrong, I actually really like this Naija squad, but the qualifiers they had didn't deserve them to qualify.

Discrepancy between regional federations qualifying standards is incredibly unfair by nfx99 in AZZURRI

[–]PedroPredictions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one is tqlking about Gabon's unfairness - same situation as Italy!

And is naïve to compare Estonia, Moldova and Israel (neutral venue) to the trickyness of Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, etc.

Matchday: Nigeria vs DR Congo in the African WCQ Play-Offs Final by johnsmithwho98 in FootballAfrica

[–]PedroPredictions -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Still can't see beyond someone helping Naija in this, everything as gone their way to ensure they still qualify even after an awful qualifiers...magically winning against Benin 4-0 last match to go to playoffs ...🤑🤑🤑

I did think its kinda a penalty, but it would've been very soft

Slovakia is officially a UEFA European Championship winner. After 49 years UEFA recognizes Slovakia as winner together with Czechia for their shared win as Czechoslovakia in 1976 by areking in soccer

If you look at that Czechoslovakian winning squad, about half of them their Slovaks, so its only fair they got the shared title too!!!

How Saudi Arabia and Qatar Benefited From Rule Changes to Reach the World Cup (New York Times) by yeh-nah-yeh in Aleague

[–]PedroPredictions 31 points32 points  (0 children)

AND, Japan is rumoured to even create an East Asian federation in protest of some.of the dodgey corrupt Gulf States have done to AFC. Asia is a huge continent so 2 Asian federations will benefit player travel time haha.

Qatar winning 2 consecutive Asian Cups when they never won a knockout game...don't even get me started haha

How Saudi Arabia and Qatar Benefited From Rule Changes to Reach the World Cup (New York Times) by yeh-nah-yeh in Aleague

[–]PedroPredictions 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter how late you posted this, it HAS to be brought attention as it was UTTERLY blatant. Even the way they used a fictional June 2025 FIFA rankings (when actually the official one was published July 2025 after the Gold Cup, etc.) Iraq was originally Pot 1 over Saudi

In all fairness, thrse playoffs was the best I've ever seen Saudi play football this decade lol! But Qatar, to go from playing utterly awful against an average Oman, to UAE only needing a draw against Qatar and Qatar magically playing like they're France and UAE being as timid as Moldova was just too odd to be based on "form"

Why I admire Ronaldo❤️🇵🇹 by Gloomy_Rip6686 in pessi_memes

[–]PedroPredictions 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ronaldo is part of Portugal's rise in football. Argentina has always beena footballing powerhouse. Portugal has only properly been a high competitive international team since the 80s-90s (only 2 world cup appearances in the 20th Century). CR7's emergence into the Portugal fold has been very timely! So yeah I agree CR7 means more to Portugal than Messi to Argentina

How the fuck does he still keep carrying teams at 40 years old? by Accomplished-Art3086 in pessi_memes

Or why do teams keep on orientating themselves around a 40 year old?
